Hello there, thanks for the response, i do think that that's def a scam...as i said i have wrote to the same email address to Christina Keenan <[email protected]>
I would like to know more about your agency please, if you could forward me the site and where you are settled, that would be very helpful as well, then i will forward to Neil Wein all my details also from my bank account too.

And i hadn't got a reply yet....of course i hadn't forward neither my details or the ones from my bank account, so i am going to wait if they write me back...soon as they do I'll forward it here to be a help for others as they my receive the same emails, castings on gumtree.

I have absolutely no doubt that it is a scam

I am glad to hear you have not given them any of your details, but I do worry about you continueing to email them, please cease contact immediately, even if your email address doesn't contain your real name, it may be used to find more information about you, you can try for yourself a search on the email address you used to see what information is available about you.

It is noble of you to try to gather more information but we would prefer you to remain safe, we can get that information in other ways

Hi there,

I also have an email like this but unlike you i was stupid enough to give my information out. here are all the emails I have received from this person named Neil.

Your details has been received, you have met our criteria and you should expect the check shortly. Hope you understand the fact that after you have received the check and it has been cleared in your account, you will deduct 200Pounds for your preparation and thereafter, send the excess money to the studio agent as you will be instructed.

Kindly let me know if you are OK with the arrangement so the check can be issued and sent ASAP.

Your age please.

Best regards,
Neil.

He then copied me in to this email with a covo with another "model" which started to aise my concerns - I have removed some information (the other girls details)

No contract for now. After first job, yes. Expect the check shortly.

Photo shoot date: 24 - 26th.
You will receive a 1,500pounds check, deduct 200 for preparation and send the remaining money to the studio agent. Is that OK?

Welcome to Scamwarners pinatanovia.

Please do not be unduly worried. They would require your address to send to you a fake or counterfeit cheque or money order.

The scammers are most likely in Africa and will not travel to you.

Report this to your local police if you are distressed or have any fear of your safety.

Thats good to know, as long as they dont try and use my information for anything else thats dodgy!! How am i not aware of these scams lol
I just glad I put two and two together before I got the cheque and banked it. these people are so crafty!!!

Concerning the cheque;

The basics are that the scammer asks the potential victim to receive payment (whether for goods being sold, investment, or from a "customer" of the scammer) and to forward all or part of the proceeds. The check/money order is fake, forged or stolen. The scammer hopes that the victim's bank will not realise initially, and will clear it. The victim sends money on, the bank later realises and debits the victim's account, and the victim has then lost the money sent on. The bank will almost certainly not be liable, and the victim may also find that their account is closed and/or that they are arrested or investigated by the police for money laundering.
