Has anyone had any business, or employment with Marsvik Logistics through Evelina Kwiatkowski? Let me be clear...I am NOT accusing this company, or person of ANY WRONG DOING AT ALL! I simply want to verify if they are legit. If they are legit, how did you verify that fact?

Thanks,

Sorry 'bout that. Their website is marsvik.com. They're said to be based in Stockholm, Sweden. Here's a quote from their employment contract: "Marsvik Logistics, registered in July, 7th in 2004 in Arenavagen, Stockholm, 121 77, Sweden, company number: 16547646, license number: 00891/02/04, represented by Director Olof Karlsson" It is a VERY well-done site from the sense that it shows that it has maybe 20 offices in as many nations, and displays all contact info for each office. It has a FAQ page. The peculiar thing is even if I Google the name of the company NOTHING comes up, not even their website. It's as if the website has some kind of "protective shield" around it. Where the flags start popping up is when I did a reverse address search on the USA office showed that address as belonging to a private citizen. I did place a call, and left them a msg inquiring if they've rec'd any other calls about this issue. Haven't heard back. Also, I never could find a stock ticker symbol for the company, nor any reference at all to the company. Surely, a company with such an intl presence would have a stock symbol. So, where some of these scams use a legit company to act as their "mother", or holding company for their scam company, this one looks as though the entire company is phantom, but a very convincing phantom at 1st blush.

The e-mails addresses that I corresponded with are fishy too. I haven't had them tested/traced yet by your recommended sites, but here's what's transpired so far. Actually, there was one that has been taken down already. It's strange that after my response over a week ago to that e-mail ([email protected]) it was rejected. That makes sense if there's no company, therefore, no domain with that name. But then, all of a sudden she calls me 2 days ago, and e-mails me a contract using a yahoo address: [email protected]. ANYONE that has worked with any major corp knows that, as their employee, you can, at the very least, be written up just for checking your own yahoo e-mail, or any other public domain e-mail; let alone using Yahoo for official business correspondence.

BREAKING NEWS!!! I just checked the company website as I was going to see if the contact e-mails on the site would be legit. Now, the company website won't even come up. So, I guess I've answered my original questions.

As for Evelina Kwiatkowski? I'm just going to let her squirm. I' m tired of babysitting this crap.

Thanks for the help on thinking this through,
UnkleBuck

The WhoIs for the domain marsvik.com shows that it was registered on 22/04 for a period of 1 year, which is a big red flag. As you say, the the web site no longer comes up, due to the lack of an IP address being assigned to the website. It is likely that the site has been pulled by its hosts.

All in all, the website situation, along with the use of a Yahoo email address all point towards this being a scam.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Thanks for the help, and advice Alan. I've truly gotten an enlightened education in the past week. It's scarey to even go on CraigsList anymore.

Thanks,

Sorry, I didn't finish tying this one up so neatly. It was DEFINITELY a VERY sophisticated scam. The slickest one I've ever seen. The website boasted around 20 nations that this company had offices in, and gave a lot of detailed contact info for each office, and even a very convincing FAQ page. However, upon doing some reverse research I found that the USA office was nothing more than a virtual office, but the phone number the site gave for that office belonged to a private citizen, who I called, and later vfd that she'd never heard of this company.

Here's the weird internet part of the scam. I researched that company for at least five hours that night, and never was able to find ANY link to it's fictional CEO, or the Swedish business license it referenced on their contract they e-mailed me. Even weirder, was no matter how I searched it the website that I was given never came up either. It was like it was cloaked or something. The next day when I was speaking with a local detective about another scam I narrowly escaped, and I was telling him about this one, when I tried to go to the website again, and POOF! It was G.A.W. GAWN! With good riddance.
