Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

This is not a genuine childcare opportunity; it is a scam. The babysitting job does not really exist.

The scammer intends to send fake or stolen checks to job applicants, asking them to forward some of the money via Western Union. The forwarded money will be received by the scammer himself.

When the bank discovers that the checks are fake or stolen, the deposited money will be removed from the applicant's bank account. The forwarded money, therefore, will end up deducted from the job applicant's own money.

This scammer also uses the email address:

[email protected]

He is sending his emails from Nigeria, as proven by the IP address: 41.71.145.252 - Lagos, Nigeria.

Hello,

I am also glad for the quick response, and I am looking forward to starting work with you as soon as possible if things really work out well between us. I am presently on vacation and I will so much appreciate if emailing is used as the best form of communication for now till my lines are fixed as I am having problems calling and receiving calls. I will want you to start work immediately when I return from vacation. We are going to meet two days at a public place before you start the job of taking care of my daughter but I can assure you that everything is going to be fine so I want all terms agreed before my arrival.I am going to arrive back to the States by the 12th of Jun and would want you to start work on the 14th of Jun. You are to babysit on Mon-Fri from 9:00am - 5:00pm and your duties include feeding,bathing,changing of clothes when dirty. This job also includes running of little errands to the store or grocery shopping if needed.

I hope you are okay with this. If you are okay with this then get back to me with the following details;

Hello,

am glad for the quick response and I am looking forward to starting work with you as soon as I return from vacation. Can I really trust you? Cause I am going to be sending you a check that will be more than the amount that you have charged for the one week cause I will want you to help send part of the payment to the plumbing company that will be doing some repairs in my house.. So kindly get back to me if you can be trusted to do this for me before I mail payment out to you. You will be sending the money to the plumbing company via western union within the states. I wait for your quick responses and thank you for your usual cooperation. I hope to meet you soon.
Regard
John

I recently got an email back from a person who I think is trying to scam me, "Lazarus Clint" where he attached pictures of his so-called family. I stupidly already sent my address so I will be receiving his fake check in the mail. How should I proceed? I told him I would rather talk over the phone and he did not respond to that. I told him if he used the information I sent to him in any way I would report him to the authorities, he did not respond to that and went on into 3 paragraphs about his daughter and wife.

How do I get out of this?

Welcome here gingy.

Just ignore the scammer and when the cheque arrives just tear it up, or hand it over to the authorities. Don't worrie too much about the scammer about knowing your address, he only used it to send a cheque, and when you ignore the scammer he will move on to find a new target.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.
