Mailing Packages to Ghana?

My neighbor met a man on Christian Mingle.They are planning to meet at some point but, He's backed out of one meeting and is supposed to come July 5th. However, he keeps having packages sent to her from different people all addressed to one name in Ghana. I feel this is a scam, but my neighbor isn't hearing this. She's an elderly lady who was widowed over a year ago. As far as I know she isn't sending money, but she is sending numerous packages.I'm worried.

Let me see if I understand you right. I'll call your neighbor Nancy and the guy in Ghana Kofi. Alice sends a package to Nancy, addressed to Kofi. Nancy forwards it to Kofi. Bob sends a package to Nancy, and Nancy forwards it to Kofi. Then Carol and Dave send packages to Nancy, who forwards them to Kofi. Right?

I'm not familiar with a scam like this, so if someone has a better idea please correct me, but she may be handling stolen goods. Does she know what's in the packages?

It feels like a scam and your neighbour could find herself in trouble if the packages are dodgy, could you prehaps guide her to this site ?

Even google some of the messages it will throw up similar scams.

I've tried warning her. It's not working. I did additional research and have contacted our Postmaster. I also found out that processing packages is illegal. I will be sharing this with her.
