Mystery Shopper followed up with CIA/FBI threat

My wife thought she was signing up for a legit mystery shopper position. The next thing she new she received a check for a little over $2,900. She put the check in with our docs to be shredded and left it alone. She has not contacted this person since she got the check. So yesterday this person decides to email her with a threat that if she doesn't contact him immediately and send the money to the other mystery shoppers that he would have no choice to involve the CIA and FBI. Here read the email for yourselves. This is sick because it must be working with others who are not aware of the scams and fall for this garbage. In my humble opinion if someone is willing to send you a check for a large or even small sum of money without really knowing you and without you doing any real work for the money then you know something is wrong!!! IMO Even if they tell you it's money for you to purchase a computer and office supplies, shred it and have nothing to do with that person/business. Be wise and be alert!!
