Scammers using Tifosi company name

Low-life scammers who post fake job opportunities in hopes of stealing money from innocent people looking for work. The scammers have no connection to real Tifosi company. Domain Tifosi.net is a free domain from freeola, and any emails from this domain are connected to these scammers.

You have to join the company at the Company staff house: 3 Kensworth Gate, 200-204 High Street South, Dunstable United Kingdom. You will be on probation for a week or two then you will become our permanent employee. Enclosed attached file is your Approved Offer of Employment, you are required to download, print, sign and return a neat scanned copy back to us and the UK BA within the time due as mention in the Letter of Employment.

Scammers can be any place in the world. There is no absolute way to know where the scammer is based. Scammers are very very rarely in the country they claim to be in. They tend to operate in countries which do not have a very strong justice department (police force).

Scammers sometimes use a Proxy server which makes it look like they are some place other than where they really are. The scammer's location has less to do with him scamming than the actions he is taking and the lies he is telling. It is best not to get hung up on the scammer's location. It is important to keep yourself safe on the internet. That is our goal, to help people be safe in the internet.

How did you know it was indeed a scam?

There are many things in this case that all tell us it is a scam, but the simplest of them all is the "home office" procedure.

The address the scammers have given for the "home office" is not in any way associated with the real UK Border Agency. The fake home office is how the scammers intend to steal your money. They will demand fees or charges, supposedly for a visa, for a job that doesn't exist.

Even without that very clear evidence, the English tells me this did NOT come from UK, and legitimate employers do NOT hire people based on an email. There would be a real interview before you were hired.

You will be on probation for a week or two

Legitimate employers also have written policies for these things. They would know how long the probationary period is--they don't just make it up as they go along.

It is also important to understand that UK has completely stopped allowing visas for unskilled employees for anyone outside the EU. That means if you do not live in EU, any offers for administrative assistant jobs, hotel jobs, factory jobs, housekeeping jobs, etc. in UK are FAKE, as there is no longer the possibility of getting a visa at all.

Welcome to ScamWarners rose0402 . Scammers often use the passport just to get you to begin complying with them. Some times they do use passports in their scams, or sell them to other scammers.

I advise people who have sent their passport to a scammer to contact the agency which issued the passport. Explain to them what has happened and let them advise you as to your next steps.

While it's not ideal, don't lose a lot of sleep over the fact that you sent your passport. As Bubbles said, report it to the appropriate agency as a precaution.

Scammers literally collect hundreds of passport scans with each of their scams. They can't travel using the passport copies, and they can't use them to open bank accounts, etc without significant skills and more information. They may reuse a passport for future scams, either as-is or edited. While this is not ideal, only a small number of passports are reused, and it is typically pretty easy to show that you were not involved in the scam. Many passports collected will never be used for anything--the scammer simply requested it to seem more official and to determine whether they would be able to scam you.
