Hello all!

Thanks to Google, was able to find this site.

I was on CL and found this job posting that stated Forklift Warehouse. This looked like a regular job add, but the only thing that I did not see was a company name, which sparked my attention at first but my current job I got through craigslist did not have a company name either and it was legit. So I went ahead and sent in my resume that included just my name, address, phone number, recent work history and school history.

I get a email that states this.

This does sound suspicious, but the usual scam jobs involve handling money. Could you post the full headers of the emails? They should tell where the email is sent from. Perhaps he's phishing.

You already realize this is a scam. This scammer took more effort to disguise the true nature of the scam, but the text in red tells us that in the end it is nothing more than a standard fake check scam.

He wants to send you a fraudulent check, have you cash it, and then send him cash or merchandise before the bank discovers it is fake. Later (possibly weeks to months down the road) when the bank discovers the check was fraudulent, they will come after you for the money, and he (who used fake information anyway) will be long gone.

All he wanted was to send the fake check to you. He isn't really looking for anything else, so general information like name, address, work history won't be of any real use to him.

I too have been in touch with this same guy and decided that something did not sound okay and googled it. I made it a little further than the other guy. This is the e-mail that I received this morning...
Hello,

This is to inform you that the funds for your first assignment has been mailed out and you will receive it in mail today or tomorrow, here is the tracking number (910196901038690293****) you can track it online at www.usps.com . However,as soon as you have received it,get it processed at your bank for instant cash and when you have the cash with you, deduct your one week upfront payment(400USD) and get the rest across to the furniture company as part payment of the furniture's I'm purchasing from their company for my new warehouse.

Meanwhile, the fund should be sent via moneygram money transfer to their head office in CA, below is their account manager details for the money gram transfer.

Receiver's Name : Candee Martin
CITY : Huntington Beach
STATE : CA
zipcode : 92649

Please note that the transfer charges must be deducted from the remaining amount after deducting your weekly upfront payment. Below are the transfer details needed after you might have sent the fund.

Sender's Name

Sender's Address:

Total Amount Sent(LESS THE TRANSFER CHARGES) :

Reference Number:

Or scan the receipt to me for better understanding in order for her to get the funds and start making arrangements. I hope you understand the above instruction and will be able to handle everything well and promptly. I will subsequently give you instructions on how to handle your other payments and assignments. Do get back to me as soon as you get this message .
I await your response.

David Sandton

Hello nyrface1132 and welcome to scamwarners.

What do I do with this, I have a tracking number and all for the package.

The check will be fake as Dotti stated above your post. Do not cash it or deposit it. With the check you can tear it up, write fake all over it (keep as a reminder) or turn it over to your local Law Enforcement. The UPS package you can do the same.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

I completely understand that it is a scam but if I can do something to prevent him/her from doing it to someone else I will. Thanks for the advice.

Just as you found it here, hopefully the next person targeted by this scam will also search the Web and find it here. Also, if the scammer used any websites or domains which he set up (which is unlikely as he didn't use a company name), please post them here with enough evidence that we can shut them down.

Welcome to ScamWarners cooldude71, please post the email address this scammer is using. The name they are using is not their name, it is a name they have chosen to try to sound legitimate. Thank you for the information.
