Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.
by Peta Thu Dec 24, 2009 12:28 am
This fake job scam is targeting Australians. The victim will be directed to process funds through their own bank account for a commission of five percent and then to transfer the remainder of the funds to the scammer via Western Union. The original transfer will, of course be fraudulent and when the victims' bank identifies the fraud the victim will be left to pay the entire amount back to the bank. There is also a possibility the victim may face police questioning.

I have been baiting this scammer using a safely anonymous and thoroughly fake identity. This scammer sent this initial scam email with a throw-away email address, in this case [email protected] and [email protected]. He quickly replied to my message with an email address from a fake domain [email protected] I have asked our talented site killers over at our sister site 419eater.com to euthanize this fraudulent domain. The scammers' follow up emails describes how this fraud is played out.

Hi
I hate to say it but i got scammed into this one :( but luckily i saw this website and specifically this post before i accepted the counterfeit chqs that will soon be arriving. I did however provide my account details such as bsb, and account number. can they in any way harm me through my account details or withdraw any funds from me?
Awaiting your response
Thanx

Hi Billy and welcome.

I am glad you found this before things got much worse.

You should immediately get your account details changed by notifying your bank, there should be a 24hour service to deal with this on the phone, do that NOW.

When the cheques arrive (if they do) you have a few choices, take them unopened or complete with the envelope if you do happen to open them to your nearest police station and explain how you came by them, copies of the emails may also help.

You could destroy them, tear them up and throw them away.

You could keep the cheques as a reminder of your experience, if you take this option, write clearly in big letters "FAKE" having a fake cheque in your posession is an offence in most countries, writing fake on it will save any problems.

It is not for me to tell you which option you take, I may have leaned towards option 3 myself, then display it prominantly so others can see it, then explain to them how you got it, by doing this you may actually prevent others from being scammed.

Option 1 comes with a very small chance of something being done to find the (possibly) victim who is posting these cheques for a scammer.

Thank you for posting, if you have any other questions, please ask

Hi
Thankyou so much for your help you've been great.
I just finished speaking with my bank and everything has been changed. I will learn from what you've taught me and be so much better off. I have already informed those around me about these types of scams and alot of eyes have been opened.
once again
Thanx.

Hi Billy, thanks for getting back to us.

You have done all the right things which is great to see.

Glad to see your helping our cause by spreading the word, you would be surprised how little the average person actually knows about the various scams, if you mention Nigerian scam most will understand it to be somebody offering you an inheritance but beyond that most wouldn't know so thank you for spreading the word.

Feel free to drop in any time, you now know where to find us  :D

Hi

I'd just tlike to thank whoever it was who posted this thread. I was invited to do the exact same thing and was on the verge of filling out forms with my bank details when i thought i'd check out what others were saying about this 'company' before doing anything which is how i found this site.

Thank you so much again, you saved me a lot of time and trouble.

:D :D :D :D

Jennie,

I am glad to hear that you avoided being scammed.

As you wade through the variety of online options, remember--any employment offer that involves collecting money and forwarding it to someone, or requires you to provide banking information before you have performed any work, is almost certainly going to be a scam.

If you have any questions about future job offers, or you would like to inform others of scams you encounter, please feel free to stop by!

Hi, just read your forum. I've just been offered the "opportunity" to join this lot on a P/T basis in UK.
It follows exactly the format in the copy e-mail previously on this forum.
Any ideas on how use this offer in a way to "cock these scumbags up"?
I have been unemployed since July last year and have only had 3 "job" offers, all from scammers. I'm now on a mission!

Looks like these scammers have some active fake domains to support their scam:

Domain Name: EPSCAREERS.COM
Registrar: ALANTRON BLTD.
Whois Server: whois.alantron.com
Referral URL: http://www.alantron.com.tr
Name Server: NS1.MONKYBABY.NET
Name Server: NS2.MONKYBABY.NET
Status: ok
Updated Date: 10-mar-2010
Creation Date: 02-dec-2009
Expiration Date: 02-dec-2010

and from the older posts:

Domain Name: HR-EPS.COM
Registrar: ALANTRON BLTD.
Whois Server: whois.alantron.com
Referral URL: http://www.alantron.com.tr
Name Server: NS1.MONKYBABY.NET
Name Server: NS2.MONKYBABY.NET
Status: ok
Updated Date: 17-jan-2010
Creation Date: 18-nov-2009
Expiration Date: 18-nov-2010

For those of you who want to learn how to make life more difficult for these scammers--fake scammers pay for these fake domains and use them to make these scams look more plausible. This means they are fair game for killing, and 419eater has a whole forum dedicated to killing fake websites and domains. If you think this might interest you, stop by the appropriate forum over at 419Eater. In the meantime, we will make sure that some site killers are aware of these domains so they can take action.

I am so glad this has been found out about. It is bad enough being unemployed , without being stolen from as well! Well done for uncovering it. I was approached through totaljobs.com which is a very big website - I have now alerted them and hope that they will reveal it.

Thanks to all who have uncovered this. I might well have fallen for it.
