Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

This is one I had a few weeks ago. I wasted alot of time on this one. I applied online, was sent an application, did an interview online and then was sent an offer letter to relocate for 5 months to the UK for training then I would be stationed in Houston for the rest of my 2 year contract. That was all good. I signed the agreement 10 pages long. and sent it back and then I got this email. from Fletcher Richard [email protected] . I have sent this information to the company as well on their website. The original email I got from the employers came from Human Resources [email protected] who stop returning my emails when I asked for the address to the Houston Location.I told him I have been taught to only buy products from trusted companies and the website for this company had not been updated since 2010. Then I got an email to just follow instructions. I verified with the British Home office that Travelers Insurance was not a requirement for a work visa, The forms he sent me haven't been used since 2008 and the Office he told me to write has been closed since 2007. The first tip off though was that the Insurance website has not been updated since 2010. I did a quite from them via email for triple what other travel insurance companies quoted me. The attorney did contact me one more time after I told him that I was not purchasing the travelers insurance for an update on my paperwork and I emailed him back that I needed a copy of my sponsorship paperwork to get my passport expedited and I have heard back from him again. I am not sure why he contacted me again, what he could possibly gain by having me send him the paperwork maybe identity theft since he couldn't get me to buy the travelers insurance.

Dear Carla Armstrong,

This is from the Roxi Website: http://www.roxipetroleum.com/roxi/en/contactus

WARNING: FALSE JOB OFFERS

Roxi Petroleum has recently received enquiries from
people who have been offered employment via email for various positions at Roxi. The emails appear to be sent from a Roxi representative.

Unfortunately these are false offers of employment and have not originated from Roxi or any of its Executives.

The false job offer scams have affected many businesses worldwide in which the sender is often trying to obtain credit card and bank details.

Should you receive such an email we recommend you do not reply or offer any personal information to these parties.
Should opportunities for work occur within Roxi they will be advertised accordingly on this website.

Welcome steph88,

As Carla posted, the real company has clearly stated on their website that these job offers are fake.

But, even without that warning it would be clear that it is a scam.

I am mentioning a few of the things that show us this is a scam:
-The name of the recruiter--a typical name created by an African who doesn't recognize the difference between what should be a first name and what should be a last.
-The scammers have made up an insurance requirement that doesn't exist. You can easily verify that by contacting the real UK immigration officials.
-The 4470 phone numbers. These numbers are not real UK phone numbers. They are "follow me" numbers that can be forwarded to phones all over the world. They are used by scammers who are pretending to be in UK when they are not. No legitimate business in UK will have a 4470 number.
-We have a fake website for the bogus insurance agency.
The website was created only a month and a half ago, and registered for the minimum period of a year.

Creation Date: 22-aug-2012
Expiration Date: 22-aug-2013

-Last, but not least, we have a fake domain for the email address, conveniently registered within 3 days of the fake insurance agency domain:
Domain Name: ROXIPETROLEUMPLC.COM
Registrar: CLICK REGISTRAR, INC. D/B/A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM
Whois Server: whois.publicdomainregistry.com

These scammers will offer "jobs" to everyone--because their goal is to convince you to send them money for the fictional insurance.
