Geordie Chapter job offer scam

Hello all! this is just to inform everyone about the employment scam. I am a victim of this scam and I want to share this experience to all. The scammers' modus is using the known company names. In my case, HOG Geordie Chapter was used. To share with you, here is the exact message I receive through email.

FIRST:

Subject: RE: Employment Vacancy Application Form for the post of Accountant.

Attention Applicant,

We have received your submitted CV/RESUME for the advertised vacancy on http://www.job-q.com/ and we sincerely appreciate your interest in our company, in line with this, we have reviewed your CV/RESUME for employment consideration as your education back ground, previous experience meets up with the required qualifications for the vacancy.

See enclosed attachment in MSword format to validate your application in our office for further interview process. You are to download the Employment Application Form and fill the form by typing or printing and reply back within the next 48hrs.

United Kingdom Work Visa and Accommodation Sponsorship are available for qualified applicant.

Provide any of the following scanned copy: International Passport, Working Place ID card, Any Government Approved ID card or Educational Certificates dully scanned and readable.

Points Scoring

Points are awarded under the points based system for the following:
-Qualifications (this ranges from GCSE A-Level equivalents to PHD's);
-Sponsorship (the type of sponsorship you are applying under);
-International Passport Copy OR Traveling documents
What do I need to make my application?
Your passport or travel document;
The application forms VAF completed;
Educational/Professional Certificates;
You are required to submit your CV with your filled up VAF for Documentary evidence for those with an academic or professional/vocational qualification as this will be used to cross check your qualification and work experience in order to earn you point.

I just knew that this is a scam when they sent me a VISA Application form through mail and I wondered why it is through email because in my knowledge the VISA application should be online or through personal visit to the embassy. I confirmed that this is a scam by sending personal message the Facebook Page of the Company and they confirmed it.

Everybody, please be ware in choosing agency or prospect employers. Make research about scams if you have doubt. Good luck and God bless us!

Welcome to Scamwarners! From its whois info, the geordiehog.com domain looks legitimate, but the phone number in the email is a phony number. Any time you see a number beginning +44-70, you can know it's phony.

Thank you for posting this!! I went through the same thing except the company that the scammers used is "The Royal Airforce Charitable Trust Enterprises" and "The Royal Airforce Benevolent Fund". The email the scammers used is "[email protected]". I googled the name "Sir. Richardson L. Edwardson" to verify if the guy is legit and your post came up. I received the very same "Geordie Chapter" email you posted after I did not respond to their request for a scanned copy of my passport. Thanks again!!

Anyone can get an e-mail address like that just like anyone can get a google or yahoo address

Scammers like to use e-mail addresses like this to make themselves appear 'official'.

hi, been receiving emails from [email protected] and they were so good to be true regarding a job offer in their organization. i have receive documents like terms and conditions of employment, the letter of appointment, certificate of sponsorships...did you guys receive the same thing? they really sound so legit but then when i saw the spelling of the certificate, "certicate" i have my doubts confirmed.

what do they want? i mean i dont even own a company but then why victimize individuals like us?

What they want is cash.

Their goal is to convince you that you really have a job and that you are really following the visa application process. Then they will tell you that you have to send money for the documents you need.

In the end, your money would be gone, and you would have no documents and no job.
