Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

Hi everyone,
I am sure this has been covered, but I want to ask one more time just to be sure. Is it safe to send a standard resume (name, address, phone, email, work/education history) to a "blind" job listing on craigslist? It is information people can probably find pretty easily online anyway right?

I usually have a good instinct for BS listings, but am still leery of sending my resume to a stranger. However I do understand employers want to remain anonymous so they aren't bombarded at work, and craigslist is free and easy.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work. This site is fabulous. :)

I typically recommend opening a separate email address to put on your resume. This way if you do end up dealing with a scammer, you can just change the address and move on.

Some people choose to use a PO box and a disposable cellphone or a google voice number for the same reason; I think it's up to personal preference. In reality-name, address, phone number, and basic job information are pretty readily available anyway, and nothing to lose sleep over.
