I just received something fishy, and started my Google search and it led me here, among other places. I recently posted an ad on Craigslist for a room mate, and it looks as though others have been hit the same way. Here is what I received:

Mark McBerry [email protected] via hosting3.ccl.ru

to me
Data Entry Post.

I am a Certified Payroll Specialist (CPS). I work for few companies on their payroll tasks. I need a trust worthy person as my data entry / typist Assistant who want to work on flexible hours on part time,Be sure to earn $1200 monthly salary for a start .

**** For you to start the job you would need the following items :
* VersaCheck Gold software , VersaInk Nano and Versajette M400 Printer .

All this cost $300usd but don't worry (you will only be working 1 to 3 hours - 3times weekly).

Note: I will send you money to purchase all the materials needed to start the job
Best Wishes.

Now, there is no Mark McBerry found anywhere on Google, although the Westray company is legit, they are in the U.K. This "hosting3.ccl.ru" mail address, I Googled that also and I came up with a few pages, all of them in Russian! Notice he immediately says he will send the money to purchase materials- who does this? Scammers only offer these kinds of setups.

Thank God for sites like these, it infuriates me that they are getting away with it, I've seen similar postings to these going back three years or more.

Welcome to ScamWarners topaz7. I have given your post its own thread. Thank you for posting this and I am glad you recognized it is a scam. They would have you printing checks which are forgeries and sending them to victims. You wuld end up being the one the police track down and arrest for forgery.

Just stop all communication with them and they will go away.
