Are you referring to the Joan D in this thread?

If so, we know it is a definite scam. While it is not ideal that you gave the scammers your ID, you will be only one of hundreds of people who did so, and it is nothing to get too stressed about.

If you gave them your bank account number, contact the fraud department of your bank. Explain what has happened--that you gave your account number to someone you thought was a legitimate employer, and you now know they are criminals who may make a transfer of stolen money to your account. If money has already been transferred, ask if it can be reversed. The fraud experts should be able to determine the best course of action. What is most important is that you do not remove any money transferred into your account.

As for the scammers, just cut off all contact with them. Don't confront them with being scammers, as they will lie anyway. Block them from your email/IM, and if they call you, hang up. If you get threatening letters, supposedly from government agencies, delete those too--that's also a common scammer tactic.
