Hi, I received an email from this company offering me this vacancy. I then applied and sent my driving license and bank details as part of application. I was told I would be assigned two tasks per week transferring the money. I was assigned one and after that I have had no response at all from this company! Please somebody tell me is this a fraudulent company?? And what I should do?

Yes it's a fraud, and it's been going on for several years. The site has been killed, but the scammers register new domains every week or month. The job consists of collecting payments from victims of other scams and forwarding them to the scammers. The sites also collect the password that one uses for viewing the transactions in one's bank account; this opens one up to control of one's PayPal or other account by the scammers, as people often use the same password at multiple sites.

No legitimate job has you receiving anything but your paycheck in your personal bank account. Legitimate companies have their own accounts for handling company money.

You may get an email from the scammers saying that they changed their name and want you to sign up with the company under the new name. Ignore it, but post the email here so that we can shut down the new site.

I had this company contacting me via email. They found my CV online through a job website. I had researched the company beforehand and found it strange how they can offer you a job without an interview. The companies house record told me a completely different story. There income over a few years was £890!! So if it was a legitimate company how can they pay you an income of £1,500 when the company has recorded less than that as profit!

Saira, remember if its a genuine job the company would want to interview you. You would also want to see who is hiring you. These leeches are just targeting people who are either not happy with their jobs or who are unemployed. If alarm bells rings in your head then listen to those bells.

What to do :-
If you regularly use your bank account for money going in and paying bills etc. Please change your account as a precaution.
Inform your Trading Standards and keep the email that you have received from the company, as you may need to forward those to Trading Standards.

Thank you very much for both those emails that I have received they have been very helpful. I am very shocked as to how these people can run these scams and fool so many people with them! There is a new website for them and it is called www.uksolutionbuilders.biz/ that's their new website, it need to be shut down so that nobody else is a victim of their crimes. You are entitled to be annoyed Saira.t. There are UK employment sites luring job seekers to post their CV.s with them and then allowing paid access to anyone with the money, and for this these people get full contact details and all the personal information - a gold mine for scammers and fraudsters.

This really is an issue that needs to be highlighted in the media as I doubt that posting an online CV has any merit, but it does represent a money making opportunity for these sites. I strongly doubt that any employer has ever sifted through online CV's for a job vacancy but fraudsters and advertising agencies would want to get their hands on this information. You may have noted that half the supposed jobs are merely courses and training being peddled under the guise of jobs.

Worst of all I recently received an offer from one site from a company that had been highlighted in a national newspaper as recruiting sellers for several boiler rooms scams operated within the UK. I'm retired and merely have details posted with these sites to scrutinise what they're doing, but to young and innocent school leavers these 'traps' may not be so easy to detect.

uksolutionbuilders.biz has already been reported for fraud. If you received an email referring to it, could you post the email?

I agree it is outrageous, why isn't this problem being dealt with as a priority, so many people are being conned into these scam websites. It should be highlighted and be made aware in the media. So the website I posted that's been reported already for fraud? I have an email which I will post that refers to this website yes. But if the police are investigating into this, why has this company been stopped and shut down for good?

I recognise your, and others' frustration.

It is difficult to get the sites shut down, all we can really do is publicize them, make them less effective and cost them time and money in defending their sites.

While many people are looking for jobs, they must bear in mind that, if it seems too good to be true it almost certainly is not true.

You never give your personal or bank details away on a first date, particularly when you have never met the chap!
