Yes it is a scam.

I have a feeling that they will have a website somewhere if they sent you a link to it please post it her, perhaps we will be able to get it shut down

Also it would help if you post the headers for the email thanks

The reason I know it is a scam is that I was sent something similar to my real life email, luckily I know what to look out for.

If you wish you can email me at
[email protected]

In particular, if you have the email that gives the Cyprus registration number, post it. But what you've posted already should be enough to kill the website; it matches scripts sent by many websites belonging to a well-known scam gang.

In case the website is blank (several have been), please post the full headers of the email.

ETA: The email mentions two company names. Howell International we already know about; it is howellinter.com and has been reported for fraud. Cramer's domain name is the one we need.

Hi, I have also received a brief email offering me to send my CV to them. Name of the company (Cramer Consulting LTD) and salary is the same, mail is [email protected], name is Christy M. Cook.

cramerltd.com is under construction, I did a whois search and it was created on 2013-03-28. I think that's the web you were looking for.

Just out of curiosity, I have never received an employment scam mail like this... what are they supposed to want after I send them my CV? I don't need any visa to work on UK, so can't figure out what they will be asking money for.

Just glancing at this one quickly, I see "financial" and "home-based" mentioned.

Typically, these will lead to money mule scams--i.e., your "job" is to receive payments and forward them. In reality, it means they want to use your bank account as an intermediate when they empty the bank accounts of others who have been phished or hacked.

Welcome to Scamwarners Pilpil.

To cut the story short, basically they will want you to act as a 'money mule' to launder stolen funds through your bank account and relay it on to their associates using a cash transfer service that cannot trace the recipient.

They haven't actually told you this yet, and they'll delay giving you details of the actual job as long as possible, but the pre-amble is the same as all the others we've seen.

The fact is that no reputable company has its staff launder company funds through their accounts, which is illegal anyway, and no company would entrust a member of staff to handle company funds without a face to face interview first. The only person who can be traced out of this deal is the person who agrees to do the laundering and the consequences can be very serious.

The worst thing is that you will waste a lot of time before you know what the real job is and you might be tempted to take a risk, if you haven't worked out the consequences.

Welcome Pilpil! How are Pilpilon and Pilpilonet getting along?

Please post the headers of an email from the cramerltd.com domain so that we can kill it. I don't have headers from howellinter.com, and it's being hard to kill. Here are the headers from an earlier domain by the same gang of scammers so that you know what to look for:

It is indeed a money mule job, as described in the following snippet from the email whose headers are above:
First, $50 you should take for yourself as your personal training wage for the lesson (you may leave it on your account) and the rest of the amount you will use for practicing with Money Gram and Western Union payment systems.

ETA: I do have headers from Howell, and it's dead. Cramer is reported for fraud.

I received an email from them yesterday to send my CV about a job vacancy, i thought it was weird because I do not remember applying for that company but I sent my CV anyway, then they sent me two application forms to fill in, I stopped when I seen they wanted me to fill in my bank details. I then copied their email address in google and found this forum, I am very glad I'm not some naive teenager, I'm glad I checked before I went any further so thank you for posting this. :)

Hi Tom welcome

I read your post on yahoo and the advice you got there was good, as I se you found us... :D

If you have received an email from [email protected], and it has come from no one that you know, this is likely spam. if however it is telling you that you have won xxxx amount on a lottery, or have inherited a vast amount of cash, then that is a scam.

Could you post the email here ? and we will be able to tell you exactly what you have, if you can please post the headers also remember to take out your personal details

If you wish you can email me at
[email protected]

I can not do that as I deleted it with out opening it. I did not look at the source as it would not of meant anything to me, at least I did not think it would. What I was interested in was, when I Google something like that I get a hit in Google that is exactly what I am looking for. How do I get that exact email address to show up as a hit on Google that says it is junk, so that when someone else gets it they can do the same and see my post to Google. It wouldn't be a post to Google it would be something that showed up on Google. Do you follow me?
Thank you,
TomS

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're asking how to get scam email addresses listed so that when someone Googles them, they show up as a scam? If so - by listing them here! Every email address, name, or other text listed here is indexed by Google - if someone does a search in Google, they will see a result here on ScamWarners and clicking the link will bring them directly to the topic. Often, seeing that it is listed on an anti scam site is enough to warn people off.

Have you sent a payment to a scammer with Western Union and now realize it's a scam? If the payment has not been picked up, you can cancel it immediately! 1-800-448-1492

Jillian,
Thank you. You do understand me correctly. The post I did on April 7 which included the email address in question, is all I have to do? Am I right? So anyone who Googles it will get the post about it on this web site?
Thank you,
TomS

Welcome virtual_john (and others).

We do need the text of the email itself to be posted.

Our forum only covers scam emails, not spam emails or viruses, and without the text of the email itself, we don't know if the email connected to that header is actually in our scope.

For SPAM emails (e.g. emails selling pharmaceuticals, cheap watches, spamming links to websites etc.) the best thing to do if you want to take action is to report them to their email provider. Then, the provider can close the email account or, if the account has been compromised, address it with the user.
