2. If the item doesn't sell:

Maybe you wonder, why not sell my products myself? I wanted to start an eBay account but I read on one of ebay's community pages that sellers with 0 feedback have not the same success as the others sellers with feedback.

I can pay you via PayPal or Bank Transfer every 4-5 days. Let me know if you have an ebay id and when you can start listing.

Easily explained when you understand that the job offer is for you to act as what is known as a 'fence' for your anonymous employer.

Whether the goods are stolen, or he wants you to sell goods that don't exist and for you to get the police tracking you down after you've paid him, is impossible to tell at this stage, but it's undoubtedly against the rules for you to act as a front for any anonymous seller who admits he has no rating.

Everyone has to start trading somewhere and they can improve their rating by having satisfied customers. Why can't or won't he do that ?

Some parts of the world are unable to trade on many sites simply because fraud is rampant in those countries and you won't get much sympathy if you have enabled a scammer to circumvent their security.

If he lets down or defrauds buyers your details and bank account will take the hit, as well as you potentially be accused of fraud.

Never give a stranger any means of accessing your account, and that's what you're doing if you agree to this arrangement.

It's more inventive than many of the other scams attempting to gain access to victim's accounts, many of which amount to out and out requests for internet banking passwords thinly disguised as employment offers, but the basic foundation of this offer makes no sense.

It isn't immediately apparent how the scammer gets access to your money but by making you responsible for his sales, that's what he's doing, but no one needs to use someone else's identity to sell on a site unless there's something fraudulent going on. Getting a good reputation is easy if you plan to trade honestly.

He'd be a fool to trust you if the offer were real as he has a lot to lose if you scam him, but a scammer has nothing to lose and everything to gain because any money you send him will effectively and eventually be coming out of your pocket. Ironically scammers are always very trusting because they aren't risking anything.

Another variation of this type of fraud involved students opening bank accounts for someone else who needs it to place bets as they can't do it themselves. The added attraction is that this offer sounds illicit without the real purpose being immediately apparent.

Basic rule - is not to allow anyone to do anything in your name or through your account, or they'll spend you out in the blink of an eye and get you in deep trouble.

Yes finigin, legally the deal is between you and the buyer, and if this person doesn't send the goods, that's your problem and responsibility.

Considering you don't know this person' and his explanation is stupid, it's very clear what he's planning to do.

The other consequence, presuming you have a good rating on the site, that rating will be trashed for ever more and any business you're running will be finished.

If he's a pawn broker he'll have premises you can verify and check online, even ring him up to confirm his identity. Clearly he values his anonymity, but considering it's your reputation, neck and account on the line you shouldn't go near this proposition because it'll be your responsibility and cost if he let's you down, and there's little doubt that's what he's planning to do.

The basic scammer principle is to get a victim to pass third party transaction through their account as they remain completely anonymous and out of reach of the law.

This scammer is still operating, now using the email address [email protected] .

It is 100% a scam.

He will either not ship anything or use a stolen credit card to purchase merchandise and send it. Either way you will be helping in credit card fraud or bank fraud. It will be only you the Police will locate.

You will also lose your Ebay account due to Neg FB. Once the scam is reported by a buyer. You will have to repay Paypal or face collections.

Only sell for friends and family. You must have the item in your possession to ensure that you can ship.

I am very pleased I came across this site, I have just been speaking to the above person regards listing items through my eBay account, apparently he is now selling cameras and electronics, I was asking questions upon questions and something just didn't add up, so I searched google and hey presto he's come straight up. I'm quite annoyed with myself as I have given him my eBay username but no other details. I have changed my password just to be safe. I too found this advert on indeed jobsite.
