This is about the babysitting, wheelchair, "i'm moving to you rplace in a cĂ´uple of days' scam. I posted this in another place her at the site but i just wanted to post it again to get more insights.

Sigh.
It's may 2013 and this babysitting scam's still around.
I just received an email. Pretty much just the same like all what all of you said except that she had twins and her name is laura gibson.
It wasn't really weird at first because all she said kinda had a plausible explanation for it. Until her most recent email where she said she would send me over 3000 dollars for the wheelchair and my first week of payment. And i was like, "what?! Who sends a total stranger 3000 dollars?!"
So anyway i was just about to tell her that she should send the check to the wheelchair supplier and give my check personally to me when we meet at mcdonalds when i decided to google the situation.
And i wound up here, reading the EXACT words and was totally disappointed in what i'd done.
I gave her a lot of personal details about me because i mailed her my resume the first time i applied. And i described my living situation as she said she also wanted the care to be at my place or theirs.

AAAAAaahhhhhh!

My question: i know i should stop and do absolutely nothing, but what happens to the information i sent her? Does anybody have an idea? Do i have to report this to the authorities? PLEASe HELP. Personal experience answers would be awesome.

Please and thankyou!

Welcome to scamwarners Sadly.scammed.

These type of scammers are not known for identity theft. She wanted your information because she wanted to appear to be real. As you know there is no job or wheelchair suppliers. Only a scammer that wants to send you a fake check. Have you deposit it and send an over payment to the pretend wheelchair suppliers via Western Union or Money Gram. Days later your bank will inform you of the fake check and you will have to re-pay that money. The bank may close your account and report you to Law Enforcement for fraud.

Please post the email address of the thief/scammer.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

Epic fail for me. Anyway, her email address is [email protected]
Her number: 207 619 4920

Scammers will often use the names of real people and companies. You can find examples of it in several forums here.

Keep in mind the person you are dealing with is a scammer. Not the singer.

Thank you for posting the email address.

Yes please. Simply cease all communications with the tosser. It has fed you lies, lies and more lies and it's pointless continuing. The information you sent 'her' is asked for to make the scam sound more believable. I too have sent much personal info to a scammer with no adverse effects happening. You should not be too worried about the info you sent. If you wish to report the scam to the law enforcement, that's fine. At least they will take down the details and keep a record of it.

Here is the e-mail my wife received, luckily I read through them and the moment they stated they would be sending the wheel chair to us, I knew it was a scam.

Linda Shamrock <[email protected]>

May 8 (3 days ago)

Hello

Thank you for replying to my job opening. I am Mrs. Linda Shamrock. I do hope to have a good reference with you at the end. I am relocating to Utah with my daughter who will be 4 years old in June and seeking a good caregiver for her for the first 5 months. I am employing two caregivers for the first 5 months because I need a long-term caregiver and will love to know Sarah's comment on each of the babysitters, to decide who is going to be with her permanently. I am a Medical counselor at the Alabama State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. I am starting a new appointment with the hearing impaired at Neumont University and Roseman University of Health Sciences. I will be needing two babysitters for mornings (11am - 4pm) and evenings (4pm to 9pm), Mondays through Fridays respectively because I work long hours. The start date is May. 23rd and the end date is Oct. 27th. Let me know the schedule that suits you and where you would like to care for her? We have the option of dropping her at your house or you coming for her at the hotel. Either ways works fine with me. I just want to make sure she is fine. I will be glad if we can set up an interview on 21st and discuss about the kid-fun activities, I will be interested in getting to know each other.

Kindly let me know if the dates and time works fine with you. I look forward to your email so as to proceed with further arrangement.

Thank You
