All major banks have fraud departments who are in place for the purpose of preventing and addressing fraud.

Simply call or visit your bank and ask to speak to someone in the fraud department. Explain what has happened, and they should be able to advise you as to any further actions that should be taken. You have made a simple mistake that has been made thousands of times before, and it should not make you lose any sleep.

What the scammers may do (it depends on how far you got with the job application) is have a payment sent to your account and expect you to forward it (minus your commission) to the scammers. If such a payment appears in your account, do not withdraw any money. Talk with the fraud department at the bank and have them reverse the transfer. The money comes from a victim of another scam, a compromised bank account, or the like. Do not withdraw any money for any reason until the fake money disappears from your account.

Do not send any money to whoever the scammers told you to. Do not respond to the scammers. They may threaten to sic the FBI, the CIA, the AFL, the CIO, and every other TLA on you — it's all lies. They're criminals; how can they call on the law enforcement?

Please post the emails you got. They will be useful for killing the domain.

Hello,

During the probationary period you are responsible for paying your own taxes and National Insurance contributions. After the probationary period you will be given the option of either maintaining the self employed status or becoming a regular employee of the company where we would take out the taxes and NI contributions.

You should use your account because this job is considered to be an Independent Contractor position, we require Agents to use their own account during their probationary period. Once employed Full Time we would provide you with a bank account through our company. If you don't want to use your account you can open new bank account only for this position.
Best Regards,

Vivienne McKay
