This robin from India. I have received a job opening email from "Ameture Placements" through "shine.com" that there is a job opening for international candidates in Bechtel US and only international candidates are eligible to apply who has passport. If you wish to apply, send your resume to [email protected].
It did the same. i sent my resume to [email protected] and after few days i got an email from [email protected] that my resume is selected for a job in Bechtel United State. To fulfill recruitment process, i need to fill application form and personal interview form which were asking personal information such as date of birth, father name, permanent address, current address, contact number etc. In that email contact number (1 4157357155, 1 2028880172 ext. 101 )of contact person (Micheal bailey) was given. I called that number to confirm that contact detail i true. My call was received and assurance was given that email is true and authentic.
After sending requisite forms, i received another email that i was selected for the post of "finance executive" and i need to agree on contract agreement. Along with that i need to send my all original education certificates for verification and for VISA processing purpose.
I did the same. i send him scanned copy of my all education documents.Other information such a bank account, personal identity number or credit card number is being asked hence not given to him.

Now, i have checked on Bechtel website and other sites that this recruitment scheme is a scam. I tried to make contact on those numbers but nobody is picking up my phone.

I fear that my personal information and education document may be used for terrorist activities.
May please somebody give me an idea what could be the possible threat and what should i do now. I am from India and scam is happened in USA. My situation is much sever.

bechtel-us.com is an email-only domain registered by hidden one week ago for one year. Please post the emails from this fake domain with full headers so that we can kill it.

As Vonpaso stated, please post the headers from the email. They will help us to get the scammers' fake website closed down.

As to your other concerns, you do not need to be too worried. This line:

We therefore, request all candidates from this region to pay for their visa which will be reimbursed to them upon their arrival

tells us what the scammer is after. This is a straightforward advance fee scam. After you filled out some more forms, the scammer would tell you that you have to send money for the "visa." The person you send that money to would be one of the scammers, or someone who collects and forwards money to them, not to any legitimate agency. In the end, you would find that you have no job and no visa, and the scammers have disappeared with your money.

The scammers asked for your work and education information simply because they want to look like they are real employers, to better convince you to send money.

The English tells me that these scammers are not American. The phone numbers are VOIP numbers, which means the scammers could be located anywhere in the world. The specific errors in English and the format of this scam tell me that the scammers are African.

There was no website when I first saw it; it's now a frame around bechtel.com. The headers show that the email was sent from India, not from the domain, whose MX is Gmail.

Can i get name and address of email sender? How can i get it. Please advise. I want file a police complaint against these people and make me at safer side to avoid misuse my document. May please advise in what cases, education documents can me misuse.

There's no way to tell for sure where they are. They could have hacked into a server to send their email. Even when the IP address in a scam email says they're in Africa, all we can tell is what ISP in what country they use.

Please check your outbox for the message you sent preceding this one and post the headers. We need it to kill the domain. Obfuscate your own address, of course.
