This letter was addressed directly to one of my email aliases. It was not a mass mailing. This scammer is likely targeting people he has victimized in the past. Other than that it's a typical money mule/money laundering scam.

Good Day <redacted>,
Am writing you to let you know about the opportunity you have to be our
agent there in the USA.
You would need to get back at me so we can talk more of you been an agent
for the company i represent so i await your mail.
Good day <redacted>,
I represent a company here in Africa (INTELS LOGISTICS COMPANY) and they have issue with cash be transferred to them, and as such they have asked me to look for an agent to help them out.
The have clients all over the world and they are willing to pay 3% of each transaction this is if you agree to this appeal.
You would not make any down payment what so ever for this transaction, all that is required is for you to make available your banking details along with some other vital information so we can ask the said client to effect the transfer so that you would withdraw it and in turn send it to the company i represent.
If you accept i would be very glad but if not i would still say thank you for your time
This transaction has to do with trust on both parties, and we would be
using you as our agent on ground to recieve and disbursh funds.
This transaction is in five phase and the first four phase are trust
and test phase where you are been tested to see how trust worthy you
are and the final phase we would go out of our way to make all
transactions come your way, where the the least would now be 10,000
usd.
Our company is involved in buy and selling of crude and you would
required to fill out and application and employment form before we
proceed.
Remember that all transaction attract a commission of 3% for you.
Regards
