the check they will send will e from a legitimate account but if you call the bank it will be a stolenn account. the bank associate who signs this cashiers check will not exist. this is scam stay away. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

I, too, almost fell victim to what I thought was a legitimate Administrative Assistant position in Ocean City, NJ, on Indeed.com! Here is the actual job post, which has since mysteriously disappeared from Indeed.com:

We are a small and fast growing company seeking a polished and professional person to fill our Administrative Office Assistant position. This role will be divided between project management support and administrative duties. This position calls for someone with a can do attitude that is reliable, highly organized, a self starter, and works well independently.

Responsibilities will include project management support (data entry, correspondence with trades, maintaining sub contractor files, etc), general office duties including fielding phone calls, filing, scanning documents, bank runs, ordering and stocking office supplies, some travel arrangements, and errands as needed.

Requirements:
-Proficient in Excel
-Proficient in QuickBooks

I almost fell victim to this! I had a sneaky suspicion, but once they told me I needed to buy all new equipment (laptop, scanner, printer, fax, and landline) I knew for sure it was a scam! Oh, and the fact that they don't current'y have an office in my location. Oh! After I told him that I wasn't interested and that I would NOT cash the check if he sent it then he replied with "good, if you do you'll go to jail"! Are you kidding me?!

Below is the email I sent to him/her since the account is fake. Conversation attached below Email

EMAIL: What side of the world are you located at anyways? You don't have a Linkedin account with their company you know. I called the company and they don't have a "Kevin Hudson" on their staff either.

So how many people do you scam daily? Is this what you do for a living? How many yahoo accounts do you have? Your job seems pretty exclusive.... Do people really get away with the stolen checks you mail out to your so called "Employees?" How many of them have you sent to jail? You should know this company doesn't need your help and they do not plan on building anymore offices in "my area" because they already have 14. Try a different company next time.

I never got a phone call from my "supervisor" either. Jerks.

Oh and when you IM "your staff" make sure you include "your company" website (which ever company that may be). Its more professional.

^You have to access the website to read the condition for not accessing the website! But the website is registered till five years in the future, so it's probably legit. "Kevin Hudson" writes like a West African, not a Texan, and has nothing to do with the website.

Looks like the scammers are at it again posting on Indeed.

I just received a similar email as the ones above when I applied for what I thought was a local job.

Following is a transcript of the email message:

Dear Applicant,

Thankfully, sites like this are in place for people to report scammers. I took the first sentence from the message and searched for it online. Low and behold others have received a similar message.
