This has to be a scam, 1. I have not posted any of my resumes online, 2. "Leonid Sobolev" is a famous 19th century Russian Army general, 2. I googled the company and there is no contact info on it, not even on the email! And there are grammar and spelling mistakes in the message. Ugh.

The email sent from is "[email protected]"

Could you find out what the website is so that we can kill it? I looked up the script of the previously killed ubcsoftware.com, and it is identical except for the company name and the person's name, which is Denis Morozov. So I looked up jcbsoftware.com in whois, but it appears to be legitimate.

I also received the same email and did a little investigating just as everyone else. There actually is a JCB Software Laboratories and their company provides laboratory education software used in graduate school. The course is "Seismic Modelling, Migration and Inversion".

How nobody else seemed to discover this company during their search is amazing. Google the company name and its one of the first 5 links. But, the description of their software sounds nothing like what was described on their website, provided to me in a follow up email. www.jcbsoftware.net

I am not saying this is legitimate. More than likely it is not and I base that off of prior experience (having been used as a mule without my knowledge). However, this was several years ago (almost 10) and their methods haven't changed much from what I can tell. I was scouted from Careerbuilder back then too.

If they were legitimately obtaining licensing in the U.S., there would be no need for you to use your personal bank account. Never give out that information anyway because instead of being their "mule" you may end up with your account completely wiped out. Licensing doesnt take long. I have license and reserved corporate names in 48 states and usually once you reserve your business name, providing its not currently being used and receive confirmation, you can usually take it to any bank along with your FEIN (which you can complete application online and receive your TIN immediately) and open a business account.

Their poor "temporary solution" to receiving payments is a dead give-a-way. Not to mention if you receive large deposits, you are going to be questioned and possibly taxed personally (anything over $10k).

Hopefully nobody has fallen for it. The site link I referred to when googling JCB Software redirects you to www.crewes.org which credits JCB Software Laboratories for their educational software and provides very detailed information about it. However, I doubt very seriously these are one and the same (Company mentioned in email, http://www.jcbsoftware.net and the other company located via google).

Definitely check out JCB website though. Talk about vague. If you are buying software, you can expect to spend a lot of money and they provide zero details for someone to even get a thorough background of the company, services and products provided. Wouldnt waste my time. I would say.... NOT LEGIT! A 3rd Grader could've created that website and probably better.

jcbsoftware.net is obviously fake, is a copy of previously killed ubcsoftware.com and icnlabs.com, and is in the process of being reported for fraud.

Just to clarify this point:
How nobody else seemed to discover this company during their search is amazing.

The original poster stated up front that there is a real company by that name. It's not that nobody didn't know there is a real company. It was not discussed further, simply because it is irrelevant to the scam--and it is a scam, absolutely no room for doubt on this one. The scammers have no connection to the real company, and the real company has nothing to do with any of this, other than the fact that killing the fake site also benefits them, as it will help protect them from harrassment by confused victims.

Several of the gangs behind these specific scams routinely take the names of real small businesses. They do this because (a) people googling the name will find authentic results, and will be more inclined to trust them and (b) they are lazy, and it's easier to copy a real name with some history than go to the effort of creating their own.

The scammers behind this particular fake site have had several other sites, under completely different names, as some of our site members have indicated. When we get these sites killed, the scammers will try again, and we will go after their new ones too.

In the end, the important thing for anyone to understand is that the mention of a real company name does not make the offer any less a scam.

Just reported jcbsoftware.net and put abbsoftlabs.com in the process of reporting. They have the same registrar, nameserver, IP address, and everything else except three letters and the SD number (0121 at ABB).
