Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

Hello,

I work for a company called Aigner Computer World. I have worked there for about six months now. I contact you all because I have been doing some research on my company and my line of work, and I found this thread on your site: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=77919&start=0 .

My story differs slightly from the thread there, so I thought I would share to see what you all think and what my next course of action should be.
First of all, I work through two people, Patti Richard, and Barry Peterson. They have never sent me a check, but have paid me through Western Union. They have always paid what I was told I would be paid, and I have always been reimbursed for the supplies I order. I work as one of/the company's administrative assistants, and I handle various things such as sending checks, emailing, delivering mail, etc. I recently also got a raise a couple months back.
Other differences in my story are that they have contacted me in more ways than just through instant messenger. I often get emails of the day's orders, "how do you do's," and I also have gotten text messages as well as spoke on the phone with them and have received a voice mail on my phone from them(from one of the days I was late to report in; I have deleted that message, though, since then).

They have a page on BBB, Facebook, and other pages, but I have also read it's easy for scam companies to get information on those places. I have always thought my work was...unorthodox, to say the least, but I never thought it was possibly a scam, especially since I have been sustaining myself on this job for so long.

Where my questions lie with the legitimacy of this company is from that thread, other accounts online, their secrecy of what we do, and some of the orders they make for me(such as demanding I drop off our mail at multiple different locations, even, though, there is no limit).

I have a lot of information, working with the, and I have every account of my conversations or communication with them in black and white through the instant messenger(one of the things that was noted as wrong), emails, and text messages.

This job has been fairly good to me, but you can understand why the information I have read has now started to worry me. Please tell me your thoughts and what I should do. I have a family and important people in my life whom I don't want to hurt through my naivete.

Thanks for reading.

You say you have been sending out cheques - are these cheques you have printed or ones that have been sent to you to be forwarded on?

The cheques you have been sending will be fake and if you have been sending them by USPS, you have been committing Mail Fraud, which is a Federal Crime and carries severe penalties.

I would urge you to print off everything you have and get in touch with the local authorities - you getting in touch with them will be a lot better than them eventually knocking on your door.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

To answer your question, I have been printing the checks onto check paper, and we have not been shipping through USPS.

If I were to come forward with this information, do I go to the local authorities if I am not located in Los Angeles like the company claims to be located at? Also what would happen to me?

Go to the police wherever you are, and explain that you have been working for what appeared to be a company and turned out to be a scam. Bring printouts of all emails including complete headers.

Also post the emails here. If anyone else is working for them, we want them to find out that it's a scam. If they have a website, we want to kill it, and will need the emails for evidence.

When you quit, do not tell Aigner that you're quitting. Just stop answering their messages, don't answer the phone, and don't pick up anything at Western Union. Act as if you had died, as far as they can tell.

Go to your local authorities and they will deal with it - the company does not exist and the person you have been communicating with will be in Africa or the Far East.

As to what will happen to you - if you are honest with the authorities then they will likely view you as a victim - if you aren't then they could decide that you knew exactly what you were doing and as you will be the only person involved in the fraud that they can identify and charge, the buck will stop with you.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
