Been scammed twice by others. Hurting myself and my family too. Learn that scammers can destroy lives and don't care.

Hi Kurt, and welcome here.

KurtPol wrote:I am new here as I need to know if I am scammed or not...15 an hour in data entry but doing lots of accounting questions while I wait the clear of my bank account from transfer.

My first question is what you mean by clear of bank account transfer. No legitimate company asks you to use your own bank account, and no real job asks you to pay in order to work.

The domain the email was sent from was just set up last October, anonymously, and for only one year. Those three facts are all red flags. The information I reference can be found here: http://whois.domaintools.com/elacinc.com
The domain does not have a hosted website. Going to the url leads to an error page. http://elacinc.com

Can you please give us a bit more info so that we can give you a more definite answer?

Have you sent a payment to a scammer with Western Union and now realize it's a scam? If the payment has not been picked up, you can cancel it immediately! 1-800-448-1492

elacinc.com is in the process of being reported for fraud. Please post some more emails from the domain to use as evidence, so that it will be clearer to the registrar and hoster that the domain is fraudulent.

They use teamviewers to make the deposit so I can make my purchases as they never send me the direct deposit paperwork.

Been doing alot of accounting work by typing the answers - not related to data entry clerk work as I can smell it was something wrong. My bank did block the deposit and told me to change the login id and password immediately,

I'm happy you became suspicious and asked.
Thankyou for posting the e-mail header because it is highly dubious. A legitimate person/ company would have no need to interfere with the header.

Got email from Robert Joesph to be sure if I am ok. I am not ok with scammers and the bank already block the links.

I can see they will not give up!

It is typical of scammers to keep trying. If you completely ignore them, they will go away once they figure out that you are not going to fall for their lies again.

The sole purpose of these scams is to turn stolen money into cash or items for the scammers. Typically, all of the other work they give you (e.g. answering accounting questions) is designed to convince you that the job is real.

Don't answer the email. Don't tell him you quit. Just disappear.

What do they ask you to do with the money that they have sent to your account?

Do you have any further information about this particular company, Elac? I received the same request and logged in for a chat session, only to find no one there. I sent an email to the person named as HR Manager, Christy with no reply. I received another email stating to login for a chat session today, which I did. This time, chatted with Robert Joseph (or so the Avatar said so). Replies were several minutes between answers and questions. I was asked to provide my full name, age and location. I said no, but answered general interview questions (what are your hobbies, what makes you uncomfortable). Then told to be available tomorrow at 9 am. No other information provided, such as how to be available and no request for information on HR paperwork to complete. I will not be providing them with anything or providing any fake work to this company. However, I am curious to know if there was any further information you could add to how this ended? Thank you.

how this ends is up to you, it depends 100% on how you deal with the information you read here.
The scammers are still scamming using this business name. (weather or not it belongs to them is questionable).
the scammer's domain is still active until October, weather or not they can use it for email is questionable. There is no website at the URL. :
Domain Name: ELACINC.COM
Registrar: GODADDY.COM, LLC
Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com
Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com

The fact is, no real employer hires by IM Chat session, and 99% or more of them will not hire by email contact alone either. You were smart not to give out any personal details as they were either scammers impersonating a real business, or a real business full of scammers.

If the only interview you had was by online chat and they told you to start work, it is without doubt a scam. Please post the emails you sent to and got from this fake company, with complete headers, removing your name and address. Also, if they told you to forward any money or packages, post the email or chat transcript where they told you to do this. The domain is still up after two months despite repeated reports. We need more evidence to convince the registrar and mailhoster that it is a fraud.
