PLease help is this a scam

Hello,

Recently i saw a job posting online and I answered it. I did some research on the company Centinel Investments and i couldnt find anything. So they transferred money into my account to transfer to an agent to get some supplies(this is not my money). I asked why they couldn't just do it and they said something about a trust thing, that they needed to see that they could trust me or not. The address is in nigeria and the people say they have a lot of scams there, someone suggested that it was some siphoning money transfer scam. I'm almost sure that it is a scam but what do I do?

It is definitely a scam - no company sends you money and then asks you to transfer it elsewhere by a method such as Western Union or Moneygram.

The money you have received will be fraudulent (either from the victim of another scam or from a compromised bank account). You need to speak to your bank urgently and tell them that the deposit is fraudulent (print off all the emails you have received from them to show your bank) - do not withdraw the money or transfer it elsewhere - leave it alone until your bank reverse the transaction.

At the moment I'm not sure whether the domain http://www.centinelinvestments.com is legitimate or not (the scammer may just be using it to appear to be working for them) as it is blocked where I am - what email address was the scammer using to communicate with you? Could you post the email (and headers - remove your personal details) that asked you to send the money to Nigeria.

The site plays music for no apparent reason. Hit the rightmost of the tiny buttons at the bottom to turn it off.

The site claims it was started in 2002, but the domain was registered in 2011. I'm going to ask the other site killers for their opinion.

Again, do not withdraw any money until the bank has sent the fraudulent money back where it came from.

One of the site killers, who lives in Hawai'i, has checked. There is no such company in Honolulu, and there's nothing at 603 Kapaluhu. The site will be reported for fraud.

You need to go to your bank and the police ASAP, the money you were sent was stolen, and you want to make sure that everyone knows you were a victim, otherwise you could be criminally charged

The woman gave me her age which was a little strange. I told her I do not use western union or money gram does the seller of the software have any other way for me to get the software and she said no this is fastest, WHich is not true. I did the yahoo messenger interview they asked me to do. the questions are basic. I am turning down the offer now to avoid any problems. I hate that people do this because it sounds so tempting but I have been scammed beore and it makes me paranoid of almost any job offers.
Update- It is a scam, I just IMed saying "i cannot except this job the website you gave me is listed as a scam." and then the person logged off imediately.

There are real legitimate work at home jobs in the world....it takes some digging to find them, but they are all based in real offices somewhere in the US, they have people who speak english just like we do...they do NOT use Yahoo IM etc for interviews, and again no weird fees....Now they also usually pay a little more than minimum wage....so take a look at that job and see that if it seems too good to be true...IT IS...and than stop and think ...good job not sending money

Don't tell them you quit. Just ignore them. They may threaten you; the threats are empty.

I think you should redact the names and account numbers, but PM them to a mod so that the other victims of the scam can be warned, or the scammers' bank accounts can be shut down, as the case may be. Also remove your own name and address. (There's no need to redact a routing number or SWIFT code; those identify a bank. Account numbers, yes.)
