What do I do?They have my whole resume. They have my address, phone number, everything. Im scared. Where do i go from here?

Relax. They aren't trying to use that info. They only asked for it to make you think they are legit business.

Send us your the email you sent your stuff to here please so we can warn others about it. I need to see the email you responded to to be sure, but my guess is they were West African scammers...they are FAR away....they may hassle you by email with different scams, but as long as all you did is send your info...they are not going to do anyting to you....they just want money and do not waste time on doing mean things just for the sake of doing them

I replied to an ad on craigslist for a receptionist job. That was the reply I got. In the email I originally sent I attached my resume with all of my information. It has my address, phone number, email, previous work history, everything about me except my social security #.

The scammer intended to send you a fake check to deposit in your personal account, then send money on by Western Union. Or, worse, the scammer would convince you to print fake checks and send them to other victims.
Or maybe they would have victims send money to your bank account which you would think it was your job to send on by Western Union.

You didn't fall for it so you can just go back to your regularly scheduled program. There is no emergency, no need to break glass or pull handle . . .

I forwarded your mailing details to my daughter, and she told me a few minutes later that she has sent the Money Order to your mailing address, and would be delivered in about 2 business days. My daughter was in a rush out so she sent a total of $1,890. She merged your couch payment with the truck drivers expenses.

Once you receive the payment package in your mail, you go to your bank, cash or make a next day deposit, you then deduct the exact amount for your couch, plus $50 inconvenience fee for holding the couch for us, you then assist in sending the remaining funds to the Truck Driver via Western Union Money transfer. The driver would be coming to your location or any public place for the pick up of the couch after receiving the funds. I hope i can trust that you will send the Drivers funds in due time so he can come for the pickup as soon as he receives the payment from you.

Pls acknowledge that you have received this email and will be on the lookout for the package. I would also like you to provide a number where you can be reached, or a number where you can receive text messages on. Thanks

Katie0713, "All" of your information can vary person to person. Ergo, if you mean, name and address, phone #'s.... then honestly that isn't much. You can, however expect the scammer to use your information in other scams because now he has a real person to impersonate.

Set up some alerts for your information here : http://www.google.com/alerts

Then if you see your information being abused, you can deal with it appropriately.

If you mean "All" of your information included things like your passport, drivers license, social security #, and / or credit card, or bank information, then immediately contact the issuer of those documents, report them as stolen, and request new #'s. Still set up alerts for this information too, as it might be critical in stealing your identity, or worse.

When sending a resume online, never ever include more than a phone # and an email address on the resume, for personal information ( be sure both are disposable, too-- a $20 pay as you go phone and free email address that is not your regular one are great tools). If the employer needs more, they can ask for it, and you can do research on them to see if they are real before sending it. 99.9% of the time, any "employer" using a free email address such as outlook, live, gmail, yahoo, and the countless others that mail.com uses are not employers to start with, they are scammers.
