I received this in my email suggesting I could be employed as a Personal Assistant for the below named individual and using a gmail address listed in this post. I ran this gmail address and IP address and it comes to Mountain View, California. The people who send money are real and under the impression their money is going to mangers of various resorts. It requires they send money to a PayPal account of the Personal Assistant, Although these people believe they have placed a deposit for a rental, behind the scene, the Personal Assistant is told to use Western Union to send money to various individuals throughout the United States. Those who believe they have a legitimate reservation and have placed a deposit arrive at their vacation resort only to find they do not have a reservation, nor is there any record of a deposit. The scammer and his operatives get away with large sums of money, and the Personal Assistant ends up facing criminal charges for laundering money. I am a retired Law Enforcement officer, and any individuals who receive this type of email, or any other suspicious emails offering jobs to make money, or who have actually gone on and participated, are encourage to file a complaint with IC3 (below is the link to IC3). Read about IC3 as they act in concert with the FBI and will track down and prosecute those who are involved in a scam operation.

This is the offer I received in my email: (My name and address have bee removed).

Thankyou for the post Patrick.
What you so describe is a fairly common type of scam. The reason for resolution about the ip number finding it's way to MV is because that is where google is based. Others will read your post in future and will be wary.
