This scam is well set up, it has a fake website and phone numbers and they seem to have gone to a lot of trouble in putting together their list of jobs.

Without seeing further emails I can only guess at the outcome, my guess is that you will be offered the job of your choice regardless of any qualifications you may provide.

You will be advised that you must send money to somebody to pay for a fully refundable fee prior to arriving, you may be reimbursed with a fake cheque or a fraudulent deposit, either way, any money sent to you will be through fraudulent means.

I am sure our fake site experts will be able to provide a lot more information on this, meanwhile, please do not reply to any such advertisements.

I believe that the site londonrussellhotel.co.uk is the real site. The email adress [email protected] has been spoofed: this means that it looks like it has been sent from this adress, while in reality it is sent from another. Notice how they want a reply to a free live.co.uk email adress; this is simply because they have no access to the real domain. In this case the scammers are using a legitimate site in order to look more real.

The site of the hotel checks out in every way and has the necessairy security certificates to handle online payments. They are most likely completely unaware of this scam, and certainly not involved.

This is a good example that you always have to be careful with emails: not everything what you see is real. Especially be careful with emails related to money or payments in any way.

To further clarify this scam:

As Michael said, in this case the scammer lists the real hotel website, but a live.com address. The scammer is not connected to the real hotel or its website, and if you search the site, you won't find these job postings--because the hotel is not offering thee jobs.

These two statements tell us exactly what kind of scam is being run.

Candidates will only responsible for his/her Visa processing and charges in his/her respective Country.

Notice that this is looking ONLY for applicants OUTSIDE of UK. This is a clear lead-in to a visa scam. Victims will be offered jobs, and referred to a "travel agent," "immigration specialist," or some other agent or agency (which is the scammer himself or an accomplice), in order to get the necessary visas and travel documents. The victims will then be instructed to send the money for the "visa processing charges" by western union or bank transfer.

The problem, of course, is that there is not job, and there is no visa. The scammer is pocketing the money sent for the visa. In order to get a visa for UK, you must visit the UK embassy in your own country, IN PERSON. Nobody can can get a visa for you.

Also note that 44-871 numbers are either redirect numbers or shared numbers. In either case, these numbers are chosen by scammers because they can be configured to call phones outside of UK. A victim calling this number will be led to believe that he or she is calling UK, when in reality the call is most likely going to a phone in Africa or Malaysia.
