Company Representative scams, Payment Processing scams and other Employment scams.

I received an email from "Fedrick Bash" [email protected] about a position I applied for "Call Center Association". The email advised per my resume I had the qualifications they were looking for and that I need to install yahoo messenger and add [email protected] for a yahoo messenger interview/chat. I was advised I would receive information about the job during the chat.

I decided to email Fedrick instead asking for the company name and their location to which he replied basically, just login to yahoo messenger and chat with barbaraaquilino to receive this information. At this point there were a few things that read hoax...
1. He had a gmail account she had an yahoo account
2. The job title "Call Center ASSOCIATION" typo? I may be wrong but it probably should be Associate or Representative.
3. His name "Fedrick" typo? I may be wrong but it probably should be Fredrick.
4. This Call Center position was paying $27.70/hr. (hmmmm, yeah)
But I said ok I'll bite...
I setup a yahoo messenger account, added Barbara who immediately replied.
After a few pleasantries...she says ok the company is Ariba Company, I am going to brief you on the job details only reply "OKAY" to indicate you understand after each line. When done, you can ask questions...I replied OKAY, first she asked for my full name and location. I gave her my first and last name and city and state....
Then she says ok you are required to view our website for 10 minutes...www.ariba.com reply ok when you are done. (I thought that was strange)
So I go to the website which looked quite professional but I also did a Google search for ariba hoax...and of course received several hits. (of course I did this in less than 3 minutes) I went back to yahoo and told her you know what this opportunity sounds too good to be true so thanks but no thanks. I deleted her and logged out of IM. Then I reported the initial email. I thank scamwarners.com for the confirmation of my gut feeling about this "opportunity". Funny thing, I say this same counterfeit check type of scam on Judge Judy last week.

Be careful in your job search. Don't let your frustration and eagerness get you in a situation you regret. Be patient in your waiting.
