Advance fee loan scams and fraudulent loan sites.

Hi all! I have been scammed by a man who pretended to have a room in Edimburgh to rent. I then lost more than 1000 euro. I denounced him to the police but after two months they told me that they could not identify him as he had provided false documents to the bank (Lloyds tsb) and they told me "you may be able to get a refund through your bank". My Italian bank told me that they could not help me to get the money back from Lloyds bank. Have I the right to ask Lloyds for my money back? thank you.

Welcome to ScamWarners regenzeit, I am sorry you were scammed. You can request a refund from anyone you wish. That does not mean you will GET a refund. The account the money went though was probably closed shortly after being opened so money could not be removed from it by the bank.

Scammers often have victims open accounts for them and use them for a short time. You most likely will not get the money back, but it doesn't hurt to make a request. I encourage you to make the request in writing, not over the phone.
