Advance fee loan scams and fraudulent loan sites.
by mels552 Sun Apr 28, 2013 7:41 pm
Can anybody tell me if this is a scam, I feel that it is one.

I am a private lender who wants to make use of my investments.

Here are my terms:

1. There is a deposit as I do not perform credit checks. It is a flat fee. Don't respond if you say you can't do it.
2. I give out loans from $2000 to $5000. If you need a smaller loan, go to payday loans places. The process willtake 3 days after getting contract signed, identity verifed and deposit received.
3. The interest will be 8% per month that it takes to pay it
off. It is only that low because you've already put a
deposit on it.

If you feel you qualify, respond to this ad eitherwith your email address or leave a cell number and I will text you.

So a random stranger is offering to lend you money, but first you have to send them money?

Legitimate lenders DO perform credit checks, including private lenders (unless they are family or friends.) Even payday lenders may not consider at your credit history, but they do verify your income and/or assets. A deposit is absolutely no way to ensure that a loan will be paid back.

A legitimate lender will typically take any fees out of the total loan amount.

It's a quick way to lose your money, that's about it. The scammer will take your "deposit" and you will never see a penny.

Just for clarification:

Tips To Detect Loan Fraud
The company asks for an upfront payment. This payment can be disguised as a premium, insurance, collateral payments or a security deposit. It is ILLEGAL to ask for upfront payment for a loan in US and Canada.

I think that makes the point about as clear as possible.

Is [email protected] your email address or the person who is scamming you?

[email protected] is the scammer email address. He does all types of scams. He will even scam the scammers. I strongly recommend staying away from him and money laundering. See here> viewtopic.php?f=2&t=72401

I looked up the email address because he posted an ad on kijiji for one direction tickets and sent me a confirmation email for the tickets he bought and everything and I thought it was super legit, he said pay half now and half after you get the tickets and stuff and to pay through PayPal because of the buyer safe guarantee
But I was still a little skeptical so I googled the email address and it brought me here
I'm guessing the tickets are a scam?

Anything [email protected] is offering is 100% scam. You will lose your money in the deal.

Buy your tickets from Ticketmaster or a reputable reseller. Do the research on the reseller. With a private persons you will always have a risk of a scam with no recovery options.
