Due to the nature of my work, I have to deal with a number of foreign markets in several languages. Although the vast majority of scam attempts I receive are in English, there are a few more "talented" scammers that resort to Google translate to send messages in (what they believe to be) the victim's native language.
This is one such attempt in a very poor Portuguese (English translation below original message).
Although the e-mail seems to come from a legitimate Indonesian company (whose email server was probably hacked), and the phone number provided appears to be from the UK, the originating IP is from Nigeria, from where the scammer probably accessed the Indonesian company's email server to send the message. This company probably has nothing to do with this scam and is just another victim.
And, of course, HSBC and any other bank or company would never use a free email account like Gmail. They have their own domains.
