I recently wanted to adopt 2 puppies but then the owner ask us to pay for the shipping fees. Below is the email from the shippers as i view the previous all those scams came from cameroon. I need some opinion.

i got scammed yesterday. i couldnt wait to buy a bunny so i searched and found one person who had a cute little bunny. well, that's what i thought. she told me to pay 110$ including the shipping through moneygram and like a fool i did what she said. I got emails saying i gotta send the money in Cameroon and then they asked me to pay insurance fee $500 and i did and then they asked for $340 for vaccinations for the bunny. after that, i got a lot suspicious and checked online and guess what i found? i was scammed. unfortunately, the scammer took my $610 but i hope you guys wont make the same mistakes,

Hi I've been reading this feed and I think I may have fallen for one of their scams but I haven't completely fallen for it. is there any way for me to get the police involved or anybody to be able to catch this guy. He is still expecting me to make another payment which raised a red flag for me when he hadn't mentioned it earlier. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, the short answer is no, you cannot arrange to get the guy caught.

The person behind this scam is in Africa, most likely Cameroon. The police cannot take action against citizens of other countries.

That's why awareness is so important, and the best way to ensure others are aware are to post the emails from the scammer (which are a script he will use on many people) as well as any email addresses and phone numbers used in the attempt to scam you.

Then just cut off all contact with the scammers. Remember, they are criminals, and you have shared your information with them, so it is best not to play with them.

Edit to add: If you sent the money to someone local, you definitely still need to report the crime. Unfortunately, there is a good chance the receiver will be another victim, who thinks he/she has a legitimate job receiving payments and forwarding them to their "employer" overseas, but even if that person is not a knowing accomplice, he/she needs to be stopped.
