I live in Australia and I was about to purchase a husky, for free and I thought it was a nice woman trying to do the right thing. I gave her my delivery information and everything.
She said that the shipment was $220, not a lot but still something, after she said she got the dog registered m she continued to pester me about the shipping company emailing me.
The email was "[email protected]" the email never came through it probably went to my spam folder but yes just a warning, Australia is highly targeted when it comes to Huskies, just a warning especially for Darwin.

I recently posted an ad on kijji wanting to buy a Labrador. I was contacted by 3 people almost the very next day. I was really excited as they side they were giving it to me for adoption (free). All I had to pay was the shipping fee. However when they gave me the delievery websites I got a bit worried. That was when I began to Google pet scams kijji and came across this website. I just want to thank you all for sharing your experiences just as I'm about to share some tips here now.

So yea anyways one thing you will find in common with these scams is that they always use either Westren Union, Money Gram, Prepaid Scratch cards or Bank accounts as a means of payment. Also their emails have very funny fonts and colours. Also when you Google their website you won't find them. Even if they did have website they won't have a link (unable to open even if logo was there) to a twitter or Facebook which all reputable delievery companies should have. Also you will find a lot of typos on the website.

Anyways one thing i found funny was when I asked the guy if I could use air canada as delievery method and he said it's too expensive. It's funny how hes so worried about me wanting to pay more for the safety of his dog. Anyways the person who personally texts you/emails you always sounds very convincing but don't be fooled.

Another person (Paul Copper) email: [email protected]. tried to use DPD which is an Ireland delievery company I think to try to fraud me. However the email which claimed it self as the legit company was a fake. It's contact info and email adress was npt that of the real company shown on the official website.

Phone number : 234-206-7325 . He tried to scam me the same way I didn't even bother to contact him because he refused to use air canada and claimed that he knew best which transportation company was safest for his pet. As if Air Canada wasn't safe enough. I have leant to be cautious of numbers starting with (234-)!
