Scams selling or giving away non-existent animals, often Puppy Scams.

I was browsing exotic animal websites for Pygmy Marmosets, otherwise known as finger monkey's. The average price for one is, on average, $5,000. Given that's quite a lot, I came across a listing for two baby monkey's named Terry and Fiona. The price he listed was $280 for one, and $350 for both, and said he was moving into an apartment and needed to get rid of them quickly, which is why they were so inexpensive. I looked up similar scams regarding people selling monkey's and other exotic animals for very low prices, and found everyone said to stay away from anyone that mentions Cameroon.

I thought I was in the clear considering he said he was in Georgia, and would be able to have them shipped for pick up at the airport. He had a US number (910)-591-2658, which I did look up, but was from North Carolina. Then I asked for pictures of them, and he sent me 8, of which was him holding them. I searched the images and found they were actual monkey's for sale currently on monkey selling websites. Then I asked how I would pay him, in which he said I would pay the delivery company, and they would be delivered once the payment is confirmed.

At this point I realised it was a scam, and continued to go along with it. I sent him an email back, which was an old email, which I also looked up - [email protected]. He asked for all my information, so I sent him a link generated from http://iplogger.org/ which masks a link to retrieve the IP address of whomever clicks on it. I highly recommend this method of finding out what types of scams these people are using, and for me, it found that he was using a proxy to mask his IP, originating, from, of course, Cameroon - http://iplogger.org/map1.php?ip=41.205.22.20. There's his IP for anyone who wants to get involved or whatever.

When it comes to all the stories from this site, I suppose "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." is the greatest lesson we can learn.

Good luck to everyone else being scammed, and let me know if you need help finding out if you think you're being scammed too.

Could you post the email he sent? Others may be looking for text in the email. Hopefully, that will craunch the marmoset scammer.

Here's the content from his original email:

"there will be coming along side with all there documents and their food sample with a manaul hand book on how you will be taking care of them, so to proceed with the delivery process i will be needing your full delivery details which i will used to make the change of owner ship documents transfer from my names to yours and when am done with that i will reserve a flight ticket for them at the airport. the details i will be needing are;
your full names?
delivery address? since it will be home delivery.
postal code?
city/state?
as soon as i have all the details i will proceed with the delivery process at once, and once more thank you very much for promising me to take very good care of these my lovely babies."
