Hi, i am posting this because this person who i now know is a scammer needs to be exposed so that other people dont fall for this BS!
Okay so brace yourselves, it's pretty long story because this guy ALMOST succesfully got me.
I've never had any dogs before or any pets since i was child. well i wanted a new little dog to start off with so i began searching for dog ads on craiglist. (i was willing to pay a reasonable amount of money for rehoming fees but i dont believe in investing hundreds or even thousands of dollars in an animal, and plus i dont have that type of money anyway). so i saw an ad somebody put up of a woman who was giviing away two teacup yorkie pups that she could not take care of. i shouldve done research on the dog because i did not know how expensive this cute little rascals are! but i said hey, why not? so i emailed the woman about pups and i continued searching on craigslist. later i checked my email and the person responded:

Thanks for the mail and thank God for this wonderful day he has provided for us.To begin ,Romeo is a handsome guy and Skylie is a beautiful girl.Both puppies are 12 weeks of age.This are purebred yorkie puppies.The puppies are 1.5-2.5lbs in size and will be about 3.5-4lbs when fully grown. fast learner and very intelligent.The puppies are house broken, potty trained both out side and inside and very friendly to children and other pets.They are also current with all his shots (Distemper,Para Influenza, Boratella, Parvo and Hepatitis,Rabies shots etc) and will come along with all vet papers and all toys.we cannot take care of them because of our constant travel with baptist church. Many people are seeking to adopt our puppies but we can not afford to give them to any person unless we are very sure that he or she can take proper care of any.We are willing to separate them .We dont feel comfortable selling them because we believe a life is a life and should not be sold .All we need for them is much love and care .

How could i have been so naive and stupid? that message alone looks like some automated message with bad grammar. But i let my excitement get the best of me. the person sent me pictures of the puppies and in one of the pics it is a caucasian female holding both puppies. at the time it seemed legit. pictures, questionnaire, the whole innocent im a jesus lover trick, etc.
But anyway i answered the person's questions as they had asked with a long email describing why i should get the puppy and that i specifically wanted romeo. the person responded and said after analyzing my questionnaire they thought i was a great candidate for her "babies". (by the way, they like to call the dogs "their babies" alot to make you sympathize with them that they legitamtely dont want to give the fake puppies away but they have to. very strange).
back to the story,
the person told me that because her ministry constantly travels they were not in my area at this time. they were currently in Distrito Federal, Mexico for the time being and that the puppy would have to be shipped via airline. they informed me that they'd pay for the flight cost, the only thing i would have to pay for were the "Relocation papers" which would put the puppy in my legal ownership. which was 35$.
I thought to myself 35$ ? hey , if thats all i'm paying for them to make the puppy mine then sure! (if i was thinking i wouldve questioned the fact at how the hell can they make a dog legally mine with no prescence of me or legal indentifcation. they had nothing more than my address and name.) the person wanted to ensure that i sent them the money through moneygram, walmart, or western union. they claimed electronic payment would take days to go through and they wanted to send me the puppy by the next day. (If they want you to wire money through non trackable forms of payment like those, ITS A SCAM)
But again, i was dumb & wasnt thinking straight and was too excited about getting my puppy so soon, so i sent them the 35$ they requested. Soon after they told me my papers had been approved
. shocker. and they told me they were en route to the airport to drop fictional romeo off. soon after they emailed me saying romeo had gotten to the airport and was just awaiting to be transported and that they paid and "extra fee" for romeo to be delivered at my doorstep instead of me picking him up at the airport... (yeah ok lol)
About 10 minutes later i got an email from a fraudulent shipper which i didnt know was fake at the time. the email stated that according to mexican law the puppy was not permitted to pass through customs without a 100% refundable insurance fee of 1500$. which i would be fully refunded upon the puppy's arrival at my doorstep. If the funds a not deposited within the next 3 hours i could face pet abandoment fees in a court of law. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! at this point i started getting really skeptical, so i clicked the link in the email where it told me to make my payment. aircargolinesint.com . the site looked very low budget and looked like something i did in computer class in high school. So i googled this shipping company and cargo air is actually is a legitamate shipping company. but it sure is hell aint the website that i recieved in the email. (i also clicked on their facebook and twitter page links. none of them worked. called the phone numbers provided in the email. none of them worked. at this point i knew i was being conned by an manipulating asshole).
i gotta hand it to em though. the email was very nicely formatted with fake mexican laws and page sections quoted, pictures of the supposed shipping service in action. the whole nine yards. these people really want your money because they go all out! So anyway i decided i would play along with the scam artist:
Me: Maam, were you aware of this 1500$ insurance fee the shipping company is asking for? i dont have that kind of money and i wasnt aware i'd have to pay this because you told me you'd pay for the flight and all i had to pay was for the relocation papers?
Scammer: i was not aware of fee. but i cannot take the puppy back because he already signed over to your name so it would be illegal for me to take the puppy. our best bet is to try and get romeo home to his nice family and you dont want to face any court.(Lmao notice how i never asked her to take the puppy back? and i thought they said they didnt know about the fee? how would they know i could face court charges? and why cant they pay the fee since it's "refundable" and theyd get their money back? dont you care so much about your "babies" ? they're just wanting me to pay it so she cant snatch my money)
Me: (I kept playing along to see how far this person would go with this.) the only amount i have is 500$. i can give that much but i dont know who would cover the rest? if not then ill just have to be sued and take it up to court because you didnt tell me about this so how the hell was i supposed to know?
Scammer: Praise God!!! after much struggle i was able to speak to my mother in law and she lended me the remaining 1000$. just send me the funds you raised and i will pay for the insurance fee and will send you back your money. also please pray for my daughter, i am in in the hospital right now with her due to a car accident. (Yeah right lmao! so your mother in law suddenly gives you a thousand dollars and your trying to sell a puppy while your daughter is injured in a hospital? LMFAOOO)
Me: i dont feel comfortable sending you money. I'm just going to have to accept these court charges because this wont work....
At this point the scammer is getting irritated because i'm not giving him my money LMAO
Scammer: why are you so worried about the money? what happened to the love for our baby? you dont care that he has been sitting at airport this long? i will not let the devil work today. vengance is mine says the lord everything will go as planned.
At this point i decided i've had it with his foolery and he was just pissing me off even more
