Hi Everyone!
A few days ago, I was searching up online where I can adopt or buy Corgi puppies near my area or within my country as my current pet dog is getting older and lonely. I came across this advertisement website and there were several ads posted up for Corgis. They were listed as FOR SALE for $500-$800 Malaysian Ringgit. I emailed potential sellers, first one being Linda.
Linda ([email protected]) [Remove the dots] said she was 39 years old and located in Thailand after I told her I was located in Malaysia. She even provided a link to a Facebook profile;
https://www.facebook.com/joselondamalic
Her profile seems convincing at first but I decided to run a search on her email and found multiple ads posted online for puppy and kitten adoptions.
I decided to go along with it for now, trying to convince myself she just owns a lot of pets. Later on, I asked for more pictures of the puppies and she gave me pictures that just screams FAKE. It was then I asked if she could schedule me a day and I'll meet her at her hospital or anywhere at her convenience. She started dodging the questions and said she couldn't email me for a while as the intensive unit for her ear surgery (Yes, she said she's undergoing ear surgery so she can't speak on the phone) does not allow phones. When I kept insisting that I would like to meet her face to face and collect the puppies, she said she doesn't want people intruding her privacy.
That was when I decided to play a Liar vs Scammer game with her to see if she's really legit. I know, that was mean of me but basically, I emailed her using a secondary email address inquiring about the puppies but this time, I said I was from Thailand. She sent me two emails at the same time, one I assume was by mistake as she said she was from Thailand in one and Brunei in another.
Very legit now, Linda. You are a scammer.
Anyway, I went along with her when she said she would register the pets at the transport agency. Sure enough, I received an email from N.A.D.Y Pet Services.
Contents of the email basically said that their medical team made sure the puppies were fine and ready to be flown to me. Also wanted me to transfer MYR1600 which is the cost of transportation for two puppies to them via, you guessed it, WESTERN UNION.
To whom, you may ask? To a person in Cameroon.
For what purpose? TO SEND THE MONEY TO THE DIRECTOR OF THE AIR PETS MOVING PET MOVING SERVICES. Um... didn't you say you were N.A.D.Y Pet Services earlier?
I requested for the health certificate of the puppies, trying to see what sort of move they'd pull now. And I sure did receive a certificate, alright. A certificate edited on Microsoft Paint that I didn't even need to enlarge to know it's fake.
I also insisted they send me information about the pet clinic they got the certificate from, however I was told that I only need to directly communicate with them and did not have any need to know about the pet clinics.
Throughout this entire post, it's sure enough that this is a fraud and it surely isn't a well thought out one.
Please beware of a woman called LINDA and N.A.D.Y PET SERVICES
