Tried to buy a cat. As everyone know, I'm on the hunt for a new cat, thought first I would succeed this time after being scammed, but I'm not sure.. Could you help me find out if this is a scammer please ?

Scottish straight Scottish fold kittens £600
Salford Greater Manchester

I can't find out.. Seemed genuine but, wanted £200 deposit without seeing the cat.. Claimed going on holiday when I asked to visit.. Seemed to suggest a visit( even though not sure) a couple of days from now(where I'm at work so I said no) but very unclear mentioned.. Seller from Latvia.. Claim going to family for holiday..
What do you say... I need help before I do anything foolish..

If they ask for a deposit before you've seen the cat, they're scammers. Please post all the emails, removing your information. This will help others avoid the scam.

never, ever let go of your money until you are ready to put the product in your possession. No matter if that possession is a cat, car, motorcycle, game, or even a plate of food. The cash ( or credit card) exchange is always done in person.

Bigger still, if you don't meet the animal in person, you have no idea of its temperament, nor any medical issues it may or may not have. Cats are a dime a dozen and local shelter's and rescue's have more than they need. Do the animals a favor and save one from certain death by going to your local shelter / rescue.
