Parrot delivery

I have answered an add on Craigslist regarding two African parrots for sale( coco and channel). They stated that they could have the birds delivered since they are in London Ontario via animailers.com. I am not sure if it is a scam or not. Here is the first email.

I am sure you will like to know a little about them.They are pure african grey parrots,and a couple by the way.
I have attached their pictures for you to see,Cocco is the male then Channel the females.
They are 3 years old, well trained, good with kids and other home pets.
They are great talkative like singing and have a plentiful vocabulary.
They have had all their vaccines till date.
They will make wonderful companions for you.
I will be giving them out along with their cage,vet papers and all accessories.
It is $200 for each which is for those who are not close for pick,so the fees is in case you will require shipping to your local address,if you are coming to pick up, you pay just $150 as adoption fees per parrot though we don't really prefer separating them.I am sure you might want to know why i am giving them out at such low cost.I have been working in the United States for 7 years now from Turkey and my term is finish,so i have to go back in a weeks time and i cannot take them along, so all i need is a home for them where they will be loved and cared for with lots of attention.I need to re home them as soon as i can , i do not want to leave them in a shelter because they will not be well taken care of and they will be mixed with other animals .
They are very sweet and affectionate parrots and you will love them, i trained them in high quality standard.Please i will like to know where are you located? and if there is anything else you will like to know about them please feel free to ask me Waiting for your reply.Thanks.

The email looks like a pet scam script to me. If they ask for a payment via western Union or Money Gram it is definitely a scam.

Do you have any emails from the shipping company?
Do you have an email address for the pet seller and the shipping company?

The email is [email protected]. They say they want to use animailers.com, family works there. They said first they were in Toronto. I said I would get them in person. Then they said they were in London Ontario.

You are paying the fees directly to the shipping agency so they shall inform you on payment options.
How soon do you want to get the birds?could you please confirm with us your complete shipping info i.e

It is a scam. A legitimate shipping company would not be collecting money for the sale of the birds. The statement about them moving is a common scam tactic because they want to steal the shipping fee.
These scammers often use the name of a real shipping company and then spoof the email to make it appear to be from the real company.
The best thing to do now is to stop all communications and ignore all telephone calls and emails. Do not tell them that you know it is a scam, just go silent and let them wonder what went wrong.

I had a feeling. It's such a shame. How could one prevent these people from scamming others? It's a post on Craigslist Montreal.

animailers.com is legitimate, but the writer of the email is as African as the parrots. What email address does the scammer's shipper use?

The email is [email protected]. I had a string of emails back and forth. I won't put all of them but here is the last one. They want a deposit of 100$ to assure i will come get the parrots.

All you need to do is to go to the closest super c to you and use their western union service and send me the money $100 to the address below:

Will there be anything done with the scammers? Is there any way of tracking my them?

Your post will help others recognize the scam. As to the scammers, they are probably in Cameroon and are using fake identities and routing payments through a mule, so that they can't be tracked.
