Scams selling or giving away non-existent animals, often Puppy Scams.

I received this message today:

"FRM:Mark
MSG:Hello, a pet sitting job is available in your area, contact
[email protected] for more info"

I have received many of these and usually block the number, however I decided I would post where I could and contact the BBB.

As other's have stated, they write that somebody, usually their boss is new or moving to the area and needs a pet sitter ASAP. They then explain the house or apartment is empty and they will send you money to bring dog food, bed etecera. They say you can get the key from the real estate company, blah, blah, blah, the scam begins by asking for an account to send the money etc.

The scam is pretty obvious but in case someone involved in this scam finds a way to get to someone to think about it, I want to save someone some strife!!!

Thanks for posting! Could you post the content of the email?

This is not actually a pet scam; it belongs in the same category as babysitting and tutoring scams. They say there's a job for you in your area — then they ask you where you are. :laugh-s:
