English bulldog pet scam - seller of dog located in NT Australia, asking $650 to be paid via western union to Anita Godoy 69 Shamrock St Gordon Park QLD 4030, for dog and freight via Pet Express Services.

Then scammer asks for further money for insurance and customs vaccination....this scam has been reported on http://scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 27#p171127 also, but with slightly different details, but still same payer details.

Unfortunately I found this post too late. Do we have any recourse?

Im disappointed that Western Union said there is nothing they can do. And Im even further disappointed that this is a known scam, yet Western Union still allow people to send money to this person/address.

Help....anyone?? :(

Unfortunately there is not a whole lot you can do to recover the money.

If the name of the recipient of the money is real, chances are she is a mule who has fallen for a scam herself, and believes she is collecting and forwarding money for a legitimate reason. If the mule is an accomplice, the name is more likely fake.

It sounds as if you have already reported the matter to Western Union. In Australia, the agency responsible for this type of crime is scamwatch: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/tag/reportascam/

In addition, you may want to contact your local police and/or the police in the area where the mule is located.
