I found this persons craigslist ad. I am worried it could be a scam?
the email from her is this: [email protected]
The number is a 404 area code
I was given many images of the bird.
Here is the email i got:
Thanks for the interest in my small angel Lilly, she is 14 months old and is in excellent health conditions, will come with all her health papers including a 1 year health guarantee.
She is good with kids and other domes. Loves watching TV and playing around in the garden with our cat. She is a very jealous baby and wants all the attention in the world to herself. She is a wonderful parrot and will fill your home with joy.
The reason why we are giving Lilly away is this , We traveled mid last month to shoot a documentary as I work with a team of researchers we had a slight delay thus will be staying here longer than planned. Most of our crew came with pets to keep us company but we have to re home them now for fear of contamination and limited pet supplies around here.
My friend posted for me so i could get a good home for my Angel. She is simply wonderful. I will like to know the kind of home you have to offer because i will like her to go to the ideal home.
I can easily arrange shipping and delivery to your home if i am convinced i have the right person to take over parenthood of this gorgeous little Angel . Lilly will come along with a cage , all health papers , a transfer of ownership document in your name , food supplies , toys and other parrot accessories she has . I have attached pictures of her below so you can see how beautiful she is and let me know if you do love her. I brought her here with the help of a courier service specialized in pet transportation so they can take very good care of her as they ship her to you .
Hope to read from you soon.

Regards.

Hello fgfrf12 and welcome to Scamwarners,

Your instincts are correct, this is a common scam script that usually originate in Cameroon, Africa. The pictures that you were sent are copied from other locations on the internet that have no connection to this scam.

The best thing to do now is to stop all communications with this scammer as he does not have any birds.

Please post the full telephone number used.

If you have any additional questions about this scam please ask.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Thank you both for info on this scam. I responded to an ad on craigslist for an African Grey Parrot. They had me text them my email and surprise surprise the number I texted is the same one listed above. When I received the same script posted above, I became suspicious and decided to google it, so glad that I did. I will inform craigslist of this scam and I have not heard back from the scammer since I told them I did not feel comfortable sending any amount of money anywheres without first having the bird.

Thanks again,
Nichole :)
