Pet scam. POLO SMITH

I was looking for a Lhasa Apso, and contacted someone on the internet, after I had done several searches. this guy named Polo Smith said he could have one shipped for $250. He could ship male and female for $500. He was contacting me through cell phone 4159526780. He sent me several pictures of the puppies.


His latest text this morning was, "before i can get them delivered to you, you need to go to that address and buy a RELOADIT PACK CARD for $500 and at the back of them card you will find a seal and send me the number you see there I will used the number to book for their delivery ok.

I told him that did not sound right and I would not pay him anything until I had two healthy dogs with papers and contract in my house.

he texted me and said, " I give you 100% that you have to do so I can have them delivered to you I promise that you will have the at 7pm ok n you have them you will now send the other part of $250 ok.

Hi guys, just thought I would let you know this person (polo smith) is at it again, African grey parrots for adoption, I knew this was a scam because I have seen ads like it before and it was confirmed they were getting investigated. I pressed for details and as I thought it was total rubbish, just hope no1 falls for it. oh and he is using [email protected]

Since i lose my wife and son ( Ramson and Susan ) this bird;s
have been very lonely at home,since i go to work and only comes in the
evening,we can arrange for them to be delivery if you are far,
since i am desperate in getting them re homed,so get

Please be warned that Polo Smith is using other names now. I just had a scam from a person named Chanceline Whitney, who claimed to live in Bridport, Tasmania, Australia. She was supposedly selling two Samoyed puppies. Her e-mail address was [email protected]. Her e-mail sounded vaguely believable, until I did some research and discovered virtually identical e-mails from Polo Smith and read about this scam. I played her game (out of morbid curiosity) and was sent two more (reasonably believable) e-mails and then came the e-mails from the fake pet transport company in Cameroon - complete with telephone calls from a thickly-accented man from phone number +237 678 034 412. How anyone could fall for this past this point is beyond my understanding, but the man was quite insistent that it was all real. I asked him why he needed to be a parasite and why he couldn't earn an honest living, but he just hung up. At least I wasted some of his time.

People fall for it because scammers target people from all countries. Not every person in the world will recognize an accent nor grammar errors.

Thankfully you did research and was led here.

Unfortunately I got sucked in to this scam. I thought I was buying a french bulldog from Tasmania . I got told it was $350
The next morning I was told it would cost $950 for insurance which I stupidly believed. Now they want $1500 which I refuse to pay. He keeps emailing me saying he will pay 1100 and I only have to pay 400....I'm pretty upset about the money lost as it was supposed to be a birthday present

I am sorry to hear that you lost money to this thief. Please post the email asking for the insurance payment and include all email addresses and telephone numbers that he is currently using in this scam.
I am glad that you discovered the scam before you lost any more money to this criminal. Just ignore or block all emails and telephone call and he will eventually go away and look for another victims.
