Help I spent $250 for a puppy for my daughters birthday

I spent $250 for a teacup Maltese puppy for my daughters birthday that was suppose to arrive on Saturday, now the lady is telling me that the airport needs a $498 crate fee that is supposedly 90% refundable at pick up (Daisy will suffocate if not purchased) ...The lady promised me in the beginning I would only pay 250, she has reassured me over and over that this not a scam nor would she ever think of hurting me that way. I was very skeptical from the start and She truly has/had me convinced that she was not that type of person. She says she was a very Godly women and has used God and many bible quotes against me, I believe. I told her I could not afford the $498 and asked if she could cover that and I would just pay her the 10% refundable amount. I just now received a reply back saying this:

I am afraid that the $250 you have sent is lost as it will have been collected anonymously by a pathetic little scammer who would rather steal from innocent people than get a proper job.

Please do not send them any more money - there is no puppy, so there is no chance of it suffocating - this is just an example of how low the scammers will go by trying to emotionally blackmail you into paying more money.

The best thing to do is to block the scammers and don't reply to them. They may try further blackmail tactics or even send emails pretending to be the FBI or someother organisation trying to persuade you to pay the money to avoid getting in trouble.

Alan is right. It is all a scam..there is NO puppy. Do not have any further contact with the scammer, and do not send any money. And he is right about getting more scam emails. Chalk it up as an expensive lesson and move forward
