I contacted an advertiser on the following website: http://dogs.oodle.com/all/chicago-il/?q ... iff&inbs=1. The name given on the website is "Veronica S." The advertiser was contacted on Sunday 10/26/2014 at 8:33 PM via text to the number (509)414-5608. I sent a text saying "I am interested in a bullmastiff puppy". She replied on Monday, October 27th at 5:46 AM with a response saying "Hi thanks for the interest Are you looking for a male or female". She said the puppy would be $450 for shipping. I was contacted via email at 7:35 AM by [email protected]. The subject of the email was "DIRECTIVES ON HOW TO MAKE PAYMENT USING THE RELEAD-IT-PACT AT YOUR LOCATION FOR HTE DELIVERY OF YOUR BULL MASTIFF PUPPY TO BE DELIVERED TODAY.." I went to Jewel-Osco and purchased a Reloadit card for $450. The code is 7611328118. I sent the code and a photo of the card, as requested in the email. I received an email at 9:23 AM from [email protected] confirming they received the payment. At 12:25, I received an email with the subject "URGENT ELECTRONIC VENTILATED CRATE NEEDED FOR THE DELIVERY OF YOUR BULL MASTIFF PUPPY." The email was in addition to a phone call from (423)299-5193 requesting an additional $700 that was fully refundable. They said a ventilated crate was necessary due to the weather conditions and the safety of the puppy. I did not have $700. The advertiser contacted me via text saying she would pay $400, but I needed to pay an additional $250. I purchased another reload it card and send the following code to her with a photo: 4426420859. The puppy was to arrive on Wednesday, October 28th at 7:15 AM. I was contacted via phone by (423)299-5193 this morning (October 28th) at 6:20 AM stating the puppy was being held in Wyoming by the Solicitors Office due to insurance. They said I needed to come up $950. I started crying stating that I do not have that money. I contacted the advertiser via text at (509)414-5608. This is the conversation:
Me: "The are saying paperwork is not right. I have to pay $950. I do not have another penny."
Advertiser: "Just got off the phone with them"
Me: "And?"
Advertiser: "Could hardly sleep..until when you told me the puppy is in your arms"
Me: "What did they say???"
Advertiser: "it is well understood and it's totally refundable..we have nothing to worry about"
Me: "I am not paying another penny"
Advertiser: "They have been held by pet solicitors for update insurance"
"We put the life of the puppy in danger"
"Please am willing to put money on this was well...I understand you don't have money"
Me: "I don't"
Advertiser: "We have to do this together pls"
Me: "I cannot"
Advertiser: "So the puppy can get going"
Me: "I have spend $700 and have no proof of paperwork... No puppy nothing"
Advertiser: "It will be delivered today...I give you my word..Trust me on this"
"Am just so worried now about the poor puppy"
Me: "I have trusted you. The puppy should be here in 45 minutes."
Advertiser: "Yes I understand this...They talking about insurance"
"If we stay quiet...they just leave the puppy at solicitors"
Me: "Where is the puppy?"
"I will get him myself."
Advertiser: "They said wyoming...and you can't go there"
"Delivery service is acting on our behalf"
"Individuals may be locked up for having a pet travel without insursnce update"
Me: "I am calling my attorney now to find out about that"
Advertiser: "You don't need to...I have told you to let me handle it"
"But if u insist I won't stop...but my advice is don't"
"Cos we might end up loosing everything"
"I told you we will pay this together"
Me: "I have not seen any paperwork"
"I have not seen any pictures"
"The moving company needs to sent documentation that this is needed"
"I will call pet solicitors in Wyoming directly"
"Who can I contact?"
"I have no more money"
Advertiser: "I have not asked that yet...I explained to you..they working on our behalf"
"I can put $500..."
Me: "I have nothing"
"I have nothing left"
Advertiser: "You are delaying us instead now....."
That's what I can do noe...we don't have time"
"Let's instead figure a way to get this done"
Me: "I cannot. I am out of money."
"I told you this"
"I borrowed money for yesterday"
"I have food, a crate, toys... everything for a puppy"
"and no puppy"
"My dreams are crushed and my heart is broken"
Advertiser: I understand....u will get the puppy today"
Me: "And my pocketbook is done"
Advertiser: "Just this insursnce thing"
Me: "You said you've done this before with them... wouldn't you guys know this?"
Advertiser: "Normally the pup can travel and you can update the insurance when it comes to you"
Me: "Odd there have been so many urgent needs"
Advertiser: "But now....it has to be updated...before even been transported to another ststr"
"Please let's be optomistic and try to get this done"
Me: "I cannot"
"You are not understanding that $700 later... I do not have the funds"
"This should've all been laid out"
"It wasn't"

The conversation continues and the Advertiser states "I can pay pay $600 now...can u do $350?"

This is clearly a scam.

@AbbyTank

I am sorry to hear you lost money to this scam. Yes, you are correct it is a scam.

You will not get your money back. I am sorry to say.

The best thing to do is stop all conversations with them. The scammer may contact you again about abandoning the puppy and you will be charged with a crime or more fees need to paid. This is still part of the scam. The person you were in contact with was most likely in Africa. He/she had no puppies to give away or sell. It was all a scam. The scammer will have you pay fees for made up things. He will continue with these lies until the victim realizes it is a scam.

Please adopt your puppy locally and buy locally where you can physically see the puppy and the conditions he/she was raised.

Did the advertiser have an email address? Was their a fake website for the shipper? If the fake shipper has a Website we can try to close it.

To get back at the scammer please post all his details. Names, email addresses and websites.

Once again I am sorry.

If you have further questions, please ask.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.
