I purchased a French Bulldog via Pinterest site which took me to Montybulldogs.com. I wired the money Western Union. The day of the flight from MD to GA, I was told by the Petco shippers that a new law went into affect 2 days ago and that now I had to pay insurance on my pet to be shipped of $1050. I would get the $1000 back as cash when he was delivered to my door. When I asked the breeder he told me he was leaving the hospital, where his wife was, and going to speak with the delivery people in person. He assured me all was on the up and up but a gut feeling told me this didn't sound right. I googled and couldnt find any information about a new law and then I called another pet transporting company and they told me no such law was on the books, and that it was a scam. When I reached back out to the breeder, telling him "we had been duped" no reply came forth. I did a reverse of both his number and the shipping numbers and both came back as land lines. Breeder and I were texting so I know he has a cell, but the shipping company shows it's located near Los Angeles and the breeder lives in Maryland. I am devastated that I wont be receiving my puppy. I'm out some money but at least not $1000. I asked the breeder if I could come and retrieve my puppy and I haven't heard any word back. :(

Thank you for posting this. I've been scouring the web to see if this site (Montybulldogs.com) is legit and nothing came up until today. Here's my story...

I was attempting to purchase a beautiful English Bulldog. Price was low, only $500, so I was skeptical to begin with. Nothing on the web about Monty Bulldogs being a scam so I sent in the inquiry via their online process. All correspondence with the "breeder" was done via text from (443) 379-8802. I asked if we could speak in person and voiced my hesitation that this was a scam. I was told they were devout Christians and what good is personal gain if you're damned to hell for stealing. I was still skeptical. When I received the invoice via email from [email protected], the instructions were to Western Union payment to the attention of Conrad Arrey in College Park, MD. The "breeder", who identified himself via text and his invoice as Monty Mayor, is supposedly in MN. When I asked why he was texting me from a Baltimore # I was told he was there with his sick wife who was having an operation for a speech impediment which is why the payment was going to MD. That was enough for me to call it quits. This is the age of PayPal and that square thing you plug into your cell phone to take CC payments. I feel bad for anyone who ends up sending this scammer money.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Hi and welcome Shellyfish3,
even if there is nothing posted about a site being a scam, there are a few things you can do yourself to check it out for yourself. see this topic here : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13

and this one : http://419advancefeefraud.blogspot.com/ ... their.html

This particular site was registered only weeks ago, with a one year registration, and hiding the identity of the website owner. All 3 combined = scammer 99.9 % of the time.
