Kitten Scam from Isle of Man claimed location

look out for [email protected] Just lost £175 to cover personal courier costs from the Island for a Somali Kitten using United Shippers. Conducted the whole thing travelling by smartphone without the time to go check it out properly. So plausible. Having contacted me directly via a post i put up on a reputable breeder site saying kitten wanted even more annoying..

How to get my money back. Western Union saying money gone. Credit card company saying money pending not taken yet..but will be and then i can begin proceedings..

Part of a kitten scam that got me today.

thanks for posting the email address. what do you by "part of a kitten scam"? what is the rest of it?

If WU says the money has been picked up, then it is gone.

You have a very slim chance at getting your money back through the CC company. It really depends on them. If I were you I would not count on the fact that you will get it back, but rather it is a slim possibility.

Please post again and let us know what happens with it. Be persistent is the best advice I can offer to you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I was asked to pay the shipping costs direct and was a little woolly today and suggested paypal but was directed here and jsut followed the instructions like a goon. Been a two day scam tho...for £165. It was highlighted by a call from Western Union.


They used an phone number 02032862548 and United Shipping as a front. United Shippers <[email protected]>

The email address was [email protected]

The website they contacted me via was kittensforadoption.co.uk. Where i placed a wanted ad. This is full of pedigree kitten for free ads i can see in retrospect...this site is either a front or very badly maintained

They used Western Union as the front.

We are giving the kittens out now because we moved to a new building where the landlord sets a restriction to animals and we are really busy with our new jobs here in Douglas, since the babies are part of the family we prefer giving them out on adoption to reasonable ,knowledgeable and cautious people who can offer them the lots and love of care they will be missing from us rather than selling them to people interested in breeding and making money on their backs any of these babies will be the perfect match for your home . The kittens are well socialized and use to children since we have 2 children and other animals since before we relocated we lived in a neighborhood with several animals . Any of them will be the best playmate and companion which will fill your home . Also , I would never like that my babies should end up in a shelter or animal rescue, feel free to mail me back If you are willing to get my kitten(s). I would like to ask you some few questions before we proceed :

1) Are you familiar with pets/ever had one before , if yes what breed ?
2) Can you send me updates & pics of the kitten if I let you have any ?
3) How soon do you want the kitten(s) and can you tell which one(s) you fall for ?

I am sorry for being so inquisitive we are just being concerned about the kind of place this babies will be going to, we love them so we don't want to get rid of them their welfare matters much for us . So if you have the chance of taking any home you will just have to pay for their shipping in case you can't get to us at the address bellow ;

* Purina One Pet food for two weeks
* Health records and guarantee from Vet doctor
* Pet travel crate, Pee Pad ,toys and other accessories

We could organize transport for the kittens to get to you in the shortest time through a secured pet travel agency the same one which got the kittens here and it will cost about £150 at most per kitten . We are hoping to hear from you soon in order to conclude the adoption .

Here are the details to look for on this scam that happened to me today.

Any mention of Cameroon, Western Union, Moneygram its a scam.

I was asked to pay the shipping costs direct and was a little woolly today and suggested paypal but was directed here and just followed the instructions like a goon. (cost £10 for the transfer) It was highlighted by a call from Western Union who stopped an additional payment for a deposit for a special box for the courier (refundable on delivery by cheque...)

They used Western Union as the money transfer company and then suggested Moneygram like so "We don't have a choice sir , if we could we would have done so the flight leaving and 5:45PM will be your last option do the moneygram and everything will be fine . You can trust us though ..."

I have just been sent a very plausible receipt for delivery of the cat to the airport. The scam escalates as the flight time nears.
