Hi,

can you please confirm that the site is a scam? I have paid 1,850 GBP for the first month rental plus security deposit by bank transfer two weeks ago. Also received an invoice, but haven't heard from the agen (Michael Roy) since last week. Also called the phone numbers that appear on the rental agreement but nobody would pick up.

Should I assume I have been scammed? What can I do now? I am not based in the UK yet. Thank you for advising.

I'm one of those who got scammed by this mother fucker who calls himself Michael Roy of holiday-apartment-rental(s).com

I've contacted the FBI because an online scam is a federal crime. In the meantime, I'm following a lead based on the bank account details he's given me to wire the money into but I need more information from other folks who got scammed by this moron so I could either get the FBI to do their job and/or find him myself and seek justice the old fashion way!

Please, if anyone out there is reading this post, send me a private message with as much information as you can share or post it out here on the forum but be aware that he can be reading this as well and we don't want to scare him off. I believe together we can find him! I'm willing to invest into it all my spare time no matter the cost!

I also have been in contact with a man named Michael Roy from holiday-apartment-rentals.com

I was looking into renting a one bedroom flat in London for three weeks and I came across that website, at first I thought everything was legitimate and today the website wasn't working anymore. I called the numbers he provided me and both were off, one actually attached to some unclear voice message.

Just this feeling creeped up on me something wasn't right, I typed in the name and his name and lucky me this page showed up. I was for sure lucky as I didn't wire any money to the account and I just wrote him back that I wasn't interested anymore.

People like him make human kind look like you can't trust anyone and I really don't like when anyone takes advantage.


Please be careful.

I didn't like the bank transfer only option for payment, and that's when I went looking online about these guys and found this site. Thank you, Community. You helped us dodge this one. I just spoke to this guy Michael on the phone about an ad for a Boston sublet. I could barely understand him and the bad feeling started to creep up inside. He could not even tell me the address of the property in Boston. Sure enough a simple search brought me here. He just called me back and I told him to go away.

In the past two days I have almost been scammed by this company twice. The new "names" they are using are:
"Dominion Home Reservation" "Holiday Apartment Rentals" and "Top Apartment Vacations" At the bottom of the Agreement it says "Leonard Rodrigo" is the owner.

I saw their ad on craigslist and replied to it. I then went to their website and then called the number. It was a google number. (1st warning sign). I then began an email dialogue with them in which I asked if I could speak with someone. I called again, some picked up this time and the voice was Nigerian (2nd warning sign). Since the original ad had an address I looked up the property and realized the rate they were charging was way under the amount for the apartment and they would be losing money by renting it to anyone. (3rd warning sign) The next time we spoke I voiced my concerns, told him I needed assurance because taking my money would leave me essentially homeless. I received this text from him: "You can never be homeless, call me on my direct number at 646 627 9740 at anytime. Thanks" I told him I had to think about it. He then sent the banking information. I told him I had to think about it. I called the actual building and they said the apartment was for rent but no other company sublets for them (4th Warning). When the scammer called me again to see if I was ready I asked him about this and he said they had two apartments in the building and rented them out. None of that made sense to me and even though I really wanted this incredible price for this location I realized it was a scam. The next time he called I told him and he hung up in my face.

Today I had a similar email conversation with another "lanlord" with great prices and unfortunately the conversation started to feel all too familiar and I realized it was the same company. However I did continue the conversation so I could get the banking information to forward to the police.
