degree. I was born in Spain,Malaga(Los Asperones), my dad is from USA
but my mum is from Malaga...I went to Málaga University (UMA) i speak
both España and English ,am presently on research work at Guam (USA),
am almost done with the research. Am doing it because its part of
prerequisite for my masters in Microbiology. I would have loved to
call you but this is a remote area calls is hard to go through
from here and i don't want to waste much time.
Am really interested in renting from you and i don't really love
pets but i don't care if there is any in the house. I would have loved
to see it but am very far,but with pictures,I am glad. I will also

I got a reply to the CL ad I posted from someone named Catalina. Email address is exactly the same ([email protected]). I googled her email and found this forum. I can't thank you enough for saving me... god forbid it would have been my #2 craigslist bad luck.
Already flagged "her".

I think there is actually a way we could get this person. Figure out the ip address of the email addresses. Mine came from Los Angeles, California. If we could match up enough ip addresses to a single person, then we could press a case for check fraud. The ip address will only give you the location of the server, but law enforcement could issue a warrant to the company as to where a physical address would be. It is obviously a life style, therefore they will keep doing it. Just a thought. By the way, the name on my scam was Sylvia Burgess. Same emails. I told them I cashed the check but I really didn't........tehehe. I'm gonna stretch this out as long as possible and at least waist some of their time.

This is not a good idea. The only thing you have is a fake name and a free email address of the scammer.

He has your real name and address. Keep in mind he is a criminal. Stop all contact now.

What is the scam? How does this person benefit in this attempted scam? Not clear to me. The following is the email text:

They will send you a forged or stolen check for more than the agreed upon amount asking you to deposit the check in your account.
The scammer will then tell you once the funds are available to forward the "extra" money to a third party via some untraceable means such as Western Union or Money Gram.

Once the bank discovers the check is fraudulent you will be held accountable for the full amount of the check.
