Hello Bryon and my pleasure, this kind of guys is really a pain in the a**

And yes I had sent it in private message to Mike, to avoid overloading the thread.
Please also note I had replaced my real name with drk57 in the headers, I was in a total paranoia, should be ok again in a few days :laugh-s:

I also paid the money and there is silence for a few days. does not have any contact with them. is there a way to recover the money.
by ViniciusOnofre Mon Oct 28, 2013 5:19 am
Unfortunately, I also transfered my money to this account:
Account Name : Century ( D. Apope)
Account Number : 63629228
IBAN : GB55-BARC-2073-5363-6292-28
SWIFT : BARCGB22
Bank Name : Barclays
SortCode : 20-73-53
Bank Address : 611 Roman Road. London, E3 2RR, UK

I am asking the bank in the United Kingdom to send my money back with a police endorsement. I am not sure whether it will work, however I would like to ask everyone who has been trapped to do the same. A lot of requests will make the police/bank from United Kingdom has a good reason to investigate this.

I am trying to do everything to fuck this guys...

Hi,

Same in Norway. Luckyly I didn't send any money. This person rents a really nice place for 6000 NOK. Always accepts your conditions, always refuses, give to you any information about him... This was the first email:

Hello,

"I inherited the apartment from my grandfather when he past away, i am from
United Kingdom so i decided to rent it. Before we go further, I would like
to know about you, such as how many persons you intend to stay in the
apartment and for how long , also if you can send me picture it will be nice
. I will be glad to rent it to anyone who likes to keep it clean and tidy. I
can rent out the flat for unlimited time ( 1 to 5 years maybe more ) . I can
also rent it for short periods , the rent for 1 month is NOK 6000 including
all utilities . You can use my furniture, or you can use your own , it's
the same thing for me . I have the option of sending all my furniture to
storage, if you want to bring your own (no extra cost). You can move in to
the apartment immediately . The only problem is that I am the only person
who has the keys and i'm in UK , but i have a solution for that if you are
still interested . Thanks"

This was the second one:

Hi again,

As I told you, the price you will have to pay the first month rent of 6000 + 6000 NOK deposit ( 12000 NOK) . I need from you one month rent plus one for security deposit. I want to receive the money monthly in my bank account if that's ok with you . The apartment is ready , you just need to receive the keys and the contract to check it, and see if you can accept it. Of course we will need some way to go through this agreement, to allow us ensure that we get what we are expecting. We can make this deal securely and quickly, and in this way, you will receive the keys in 2-3 days . An escrow third party service called Century , offers this solution and will handle both payment and delivery of the keys .In this way, you can see it before i will receive the money . To start this transaction, i need your full name and address ( street number ,city , post code , country ). I will pay for the agency fees . I will look forward to hear from you if you are interested . After i will have your info i will forward them to the agency and they will contact you with all the details .

Thank you

When I asked why should I pay anything before receive the keys he answerer:

"The reason we have to deal through this method is because you must be both protected because you can't send me the money directly with no protection and i must have a warranty to send you the keys , i hope you understand i can't just send the keys to anyone . they will hold the money and send you the keys as well . The tenant must deposit the money to the agency's bank account . After you deposit the money, you will receive the keys and contract and go to see the apartment . After that if everything looks good you have to confirm if want to keep it or not. If you keep the apartment, the agency will pay me, if you don't want the apartment, they will give you the money back . The contract will be signed and filled in after you will check the apartment . Thanks"

Suspect if you get an email from a business that uses gmail for send contracts, tracking numbers,... if they're a real business they have web page and mail associated to the web page. Try to find out the webpage and try to compare the logo on the contract you got using google. This time this page (http://centurylettings.com/), talks about The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA). If you go to the NAEA's official webpage and you try to find out one associated person/business called "century" you get 0 results. There is the final clue.

They try to get money to this account:

Payment informations:

Send the total amount of NOK 12000.00
to our Century Bank Account.

Account Name : Century ( L.M. Miscu )
Account Number : 43629783
IBAN : GB41-BARC-2092-6043-6297-83
SWIFT : BARCGB22
Bank Name : Barclays
SortCode : 20-92-60
Bank Address : 981 Harrow Road, Wembley HA0 2SF, United Kingdom
Sender Details:

And this is the "landlord":

Name : Jeffrey J. Dean
Address : 16-20 Morden Road

If you try to find out his direction "16-20 Morden Road"... it's the direction of the Barclays Bank in that street.

Be aware!!

Hi,

I'm from Belgium and I have been victim of the same sh**** I am so desperate I suffered to get that money for the apartment and now I realize it's all a lie, can anyone who send the money already if they have got a refund from the bank or if there is any legal pursuit? Please I really need someone to help me because I'm trouble
by Michael Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:36 am
Hi lys062013, welcome to scamwarners.

I'm afraid that getting a refund will be extremely difficult. Something you definitely should do is file a complaint with the police, both at your local police station and with the computer crime unit of the federal police. Website: https://www.ecops.be/ Notifying your bank is not a bad thing, but I don't think a refund will be among the possibilities.

Could you please post all emails you received here, along with email addresses, websites, telephone numbers, bank accounts? It might help others.

Hi Michael,

I received the same e-mail about Jeffrey J dean the exact same like someone posted in here with email: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and last but not least [email protected], he even asked me more money this c**ep! and offered to refund until he wouldn't reply to my email, I have reported to the police, e-cops and action police in the UK , I have contacted my bank to explain my issue and have read in the policy of the bank that in some case, they migth be a refund but I have to complete a document and so on.. it might be possible for me to get a refund but I will keep you updated on that one, Do you think it's possible to find these guys? Really.. how unfair these people are... they do not realize what impact it has on me and other victims this situation...
